The latest reporting survey by Bay Area Council indicates traveling commuters in San Francisco Bay Area and willing to spend monies for improvement. An annual poll completed by EMC a research survey firm in Oakland showing support for a $3 billion bond measure to improve BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and other public transportation. Including another transbay tube to improve public transportation from across bay area cities because of ridership increase.

The airplane noises around San Francisco Bay Area is becoming problematic for local residents and trying to work with local airports to ease air traffic noise problems. We posted previously about this concern - a group of activist local residents called "Sky Posse Palo Alto" is working closely with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo for ways to resolve this problem. The group is encouraging people to fill-out a survey on the congresswoman's website at eshoo.house.gov to help with this aircraft noise problem.

The California Department of Transportation has completed it's performance report (The Mile Marker: A Caltrans Performance Report) for review and to determine progressive ongoing transportation projects. The report is a comprehensive transparent report emphasizing a new department visionary mission, for transportation throughout the state for safety and healthy reasoning for people. The department is moving forward with it's new mission of making transportation safe, environmentally healthy, and efficient for people in communities.

The traffic congestion problems in San Francisco Bay Area is becoming a way of life especially for working class people commuting along highways and roadways. Highway 101 is another commuting highway for many people and Caltrans have warned drivers about traffic congestion along the Peninsula area. During next few weeks a flood control project will be in place to repair partly along San Francisquito creek in Palo Alto. This project will increase traffic on Highway 101 and Caltrans encouraging drivers to seek alternative routes.

The cable cars in San Francisco provides fun and historical transportation rides for passengers especially tourists in City-By-The-Bay! San Francisco cable cars have been a legendary landmark for the city and providing an annual "Bell Ringing" contest for operators. It's an annual contest spearheaded by SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) and providing local amenities for winners. Including charity contribution to local community agencies, and two winners are Byron Cobb for the division and Scotty Bastable for amateurs.

The closure of Doyle Drive over this past weekend for construction was a successful endeavor and completed the project ahead of schedule time. As we posted previously about the closure for construction project upgrades of Doyle Drive and Northern Waterfront transformation. During Sunday evening at 9 PM the project crew members were able to successfully and safely switched traffic cars over, to newly transformed Doyle Drive without problems and drivers enjoying state-of-the-art new roadway!

The Stanford University students will unveil it's model of a solar power car this evening preparing for the race across Australian Outback. The unveiling event will be at the Volkswagen Automotive Innovation Laboratory on Oak Road at Stanford University geographical jurisdiction area.

A train car associated with BART caught on fire earlier Thursday morning and causing shutdown on local stations within eastern bay area locations. "This morning commute on BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) was a nightmare," said other commuters, and creating more traffic congestion on bay area roadways and freeways. The BART train car was on fire between Coliseum and Fruitvale BART stations in Oakland and passengers have to find alternate transportation.

The traveling passengers going through San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today on United Airlines must have patience due to flight delays. A computer glitch this morning at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) caused flight delays at SFO and created many passengers to wait in long lines. Some passengers were upset about not getting information from United Airlines officials about the situation, and passengers were asked to get a fee waiver if necessary.

The Bike To Work Day in San Francisco Bay Area has been supported by many people in many ways to protect our environment and staying healthy. The report indicates Bike To Work Day was successful and competitive for many people as well as people riding to work with intentions to stay healthy - 22% participant increase. Including local political competition between Oakland and San Jose elected mayors with ways to support our environment and fitness for people.
