The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) Board of Directors authorized $8 million funds to build a new train station in North Bay within Petaluma. The funding is from a sale of the downtown SMART property to construct therein second train station in Petaluma. The new train station was already part of the initial plan to have two train stations in Petaluma, and taking tireless negotiating efforts between partnership agencies. The escrow deal is scheduled to close during November 2020, and funding will help with designing and construction of therein second SMART train station.

The OAK (Oakland International Airport) commercial airport in East Bay is showing more air travelers with other major airports since therein COVID-19 health pandemic lockdown. The OAK Airport in East Bay is showing more weekly departures and Southwest Airlines is increasing flight schedules in San Francisco Bay Area. The OAK Airport Resiliency Task Force will continue to provide appropriate assessments and planning for the airport to continue its effective services. The Alaska Airlines and other airlines are expecting to show more air travelers during this summertime.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) is closing a ferry terminal parking lot in Alameda starting today on Monday, June 22 to Thursday, June 25, 2020. Because of the parking lot maintenance repairs and upgrades for ferry commuting passengers in San Francisco Bay Area. The WETA transit agency transports over three million passengers every year across the Bay Area. The AC transit agency released safety guidelines for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists during BRT transit activities in 34 stations. The BRT services will use electric coach buses to decrease emissions along service lines and Bay Area local communities. Including bus only lanes for BRT services effectiveness and avoiding traffic delays for transporting services in East Bay.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) is relocating Delta Airlines to Terminal 2 effective Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in West Bay. The SFO Airport has been undergoing major development projects and runway repairs with upgrades, and comes with new airport policies and parking restrictions. Including the airport roadway constructions and upgrades with new traffic signals alignment with parking garages. The SFO Delta Airlines relocation project will provide the final phase at Harvey Milk Terminal 1 constructions.

Some airlines within San Francisco Bay Area commercial airports are requiring passengers to wear face coverings when traveling onboard airplane flights. The following airlines have policies requiring passengers to wear face coverings: United, America, Delta, Southwest, Alaska, Frontier, and JetBlue to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus. The American Airlines denied passenger Brandon Straka to fly because he was not wearing a face covering and was kicked off the flight on Wednesday, June 17. 2020.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency unveils the newly designed fares gate for passengers riding trains in San Francisco Bay Area. The BART new gates for commuting passengers will cost approximately $90 million with 40% savings from the initial estimating cost. The BART Board of Directors approved therein new fares gate design during September 2019 for all BART stations in the Bay Area. The BART Accessibility Task Force tested the new BART fares gate design and having it ADA (Americans Disability Act) accessible as necessary.
