The Caltrain transit agency tax measure has been approved by San Francisco Board of Supervisors for November 3, 2020 elections. The San Mateo County already approved therein tax measure, and San Francisco Board of Supervisors amended therein initiative language to include a governance reform clause. The Santa Clara County will support therein tax measure as long as they are okay with therein initiative amendment, and Caltrain's tax measure has to be approved by all three identified counties to officially have it on the ballot.

The SamTrans transit agency in San Mateo County is launching the Ride Now Taxi Program in West Bay effective Saturday, August 1, 2020. The SamTrans pilot program is to help seniors and people with disabilities service within San Carlos, Redwood City, and North Fair Oaks coverage areas. It's a subsidized pilot program to provide passengers with discount transit fees with affordable same day transportation services, and funded by a federal grant from FTA (Federal Transit Administration).

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency teams up with community agencies to defeat COVID-19 in West Bay for testing effective Wednesday, July 29, 2020. The BART agency partners with UCSF (University of California San Francisco) and LTF (Latino Task Force) to provide free COVID-19 testing in San Francisco Mission District. Including SFDPH (San Francisco Department of Public Health), Chan Zuckerberg BioHub, and office of San Francisco Supervisor Hillary Ronen. It's an effort to enhance the ability to detect and contain therein spread of COVID-19 within local communities.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) commercial airport is having more international flights returning since July 1, 2020. The SFO Airport has more international flights returning during the month of July 2020 in the Bay Area, and welcoming non-stop flights from international airlines. The United Airlines have increased their frequency flights to Frankfurt, and flights to other international destinations.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) ferry agency is requesting RFQ (Request For Qualification) proposals from interesting companies. The WETA identified RFQ proposals will be for therein DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank project and requesting for quotation amounts. The WETA project RFQ proposals are due on Thursday, August 6, 2020 with therein project timelines during the procedural process. The DEF project operation will be at the WETA maintenance facility in North Bay as identified with the Scope of Work.

The SJC (San Jose International Airport) commercial airport is announcing new flights for Alaska Airlines in South Bay for air travelers. The Alaska Airlines will operate new flights during September 2020 to the State of Washington, and service to states of Oregon, and Montana from SJC Airport will start during March 2021. The identified new Alaska Airlines daily flights will be additional to non-stop flights from SJC Airport in South Bay. These new flights for air travelers from SJC Airport will use an E175 aircraft with 76 seats for air transporting services.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit is upgrading their digital signs at muni bus stops in West Bay to help passengers. The SFMTA digital upgrading project will cost $89 million for the contract implementation with maintenance and development. The SFMTA will request therein project revenues through the San Francisco Board of Supervisors approval of funding allocation. The San Francisco Mayor's Office already submitted a requesting resolution and working closely with SFMTA regarding therein funding revenues.

The iconic Golden Gate Bridge sidewalk on the west side will be closed during this weekend for maintenance repairs and upgrades. It will be closed tomorrow on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 5 AM until Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 9 PM for therein maintenance upgrading repairs. The iconic bridge sidewalk on the east side in the Bay Area will remain open and pedestrians with bike riders can use therein sidewalk for optional access. The Golden Gate Bridge District personnel is requesting the bridge pedestrians and bicyclists to be aware of sharing therein sidewalk for awareness.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) public transit agency is restoring some services in East Bay effective Sunday, August 9, 2020. The AC Transit BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) called Tempo is coming soon during this summertime, and restoring 80% transit services as part of the Service Recovery Plan in East Bay. The BRT Tempo project is an investment of $232 million to upgrade transit services in East Bay featuring new elements for passengers.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is reminding passengers that commuting fares will begin on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in South Bay. The VTA is preparing transit buses to have appropriate protections for driving operators when passengers are paying their commuting fares. The transit buses will have plastic partitions to limit physical contacts between driving operators and passengers. The transit maintenance crews will continue cleaning the buses with disinfectants to protect passengers and operating drivers.
