The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) agency shared the creation of a Blue Ribbon Transit Recovery Task Force in San Francisco Bay Area. The task force team will have 30 members to guide the future of Bay Area transit networks for public transportation. Because of new adjustments created by therein COVID-19 health pandemic crisis and the future of services with public transportation. The task force membership will involve different people from business and community leaders, transit advocates, elected officials, etc.

The San Francisco Bay Area private transportation companies have been impacted by therein COVID-19 health crisis. The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) administration is relocating American Airlines effective Tuesday, May 12, 2020 to Harvey Milk Terminal 1. The SFO Airport infrastructure updates were delayed because of therein COVID-19 health crisis emergency. The airport will continually remain open for essential air traveling passengers and construction crews will continue infrastructure repairs at Terminal 1. The American Airlines will have new ticket counters and state-of-the-art baggage claim systems for air travelers.

The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) employees union is requesting more protections for TSA Officers at local airports. The TSA employees union representative is requesting more protection for TSA Officers before air traveling picks up again. Because TSA Officers are at the front lines for airport security and working to keep the flying public safe at local airports. Including protection from therein COVID-19 health pandemic crisis because of the likelihood of being exposed to it.

The SJC (Mineta San Jose International) Airport is requesting all passengers and/or airport personnel to wear face coverings as required effective Monday, May 4, 2020. Including airport visitors dropping off and/or picking up passengers when they are inside the airport jurisdiction in South Bay. The SJC Airport visitors who are 6 years old and/or younger children don't have to wear face coverings as required. The SJC Airport approach is to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus and consistent with local, state, and federal public health advisory.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is requesting passengers to wear face covering onboard as mandated effective Monday, May 4, 2020. It's mandatory for both VTA personnel and passengers onboard to wear face coverings to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the Bay Area. The VTA transit agency will have visual signs to remind passengers and consistent with local, state, and federal Public Health advisory. Including social distancing onboard the transporting fleet, washing hands, and will have audio and/or digital reminding messages on platforms.

The bicycle riders are booming in San Francisco Bay Area during therein COVID-19 health pandemic. The bike sales in San Francisco is elevating and people are riding bicycles more than ever. The road closures in San Francisco and some Bay Area cities maybe allowing more people to ride their bikes locally without cars on therein road closures. The bicycle shops are trying to keep up with local needs for more bicycles because customers are lining up to buy. Some local bicycle shops have no problems with the high demand during the COVID-19 health pandemic.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and BAAQM (Bay Area Air Quality Management) District is partnering for a youth contest in San Francisco Bay Area. The contest is engaging students between 13 and 19 years of age regarding climate change and environmental protection alignment with transportation in the Bay Area. The youth contest students must turn in their storytelling projects by Monday, May 18, 2020 to be eligible and receive contest prices.

The JetBlue Airlines have a new policy for air traveling passengers to protect them from therein COVID-19 virus. The JetBlue Airlines would be the first to implement such a protective policy during last month for passengers to wear face coverings. The new policy for air travelers will become officially effective on Monday, May 4, 2020 as a requirement for flight passengers. Because some domestic flights are 85% to 100% full with air traveling passengers on some airlines domestic flights.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train hits a man at Bay Fair station on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 during morning hours around 9:50 AM. An ambulance was contacted to transport the person to a hospital and authorities did not identify him immediately. The man was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital for his injuries thereafter being hit by the BART train. It's reported BART Police Officers closed the Bay Fair station for the scenery investigation and reopened for regular services.
