The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) commercial airport is implementing a runway improvement project in West Bay during October 2020. The SFO Airport runway project was originally scheduled for 2022 and was moved forward because of less airline flights at this time. The timing is good for improvement projects because therein COVID-19 pandemic created less airline flights within Bay Area commercial airports. The SFO Airport projects are ahead of time and herein project will upgrade runway intersections, and repaving a section of runway 28R to have a better surface.

The SCT agency services Route 20 and 30 are operating on new daily transit schedules, and Route 34 and 42 are operating on weekday schedules with no services on Labor Day. The transit Routes 40, 44, and 48 are operating with new revised weekday schedules effective last week until further notice. The transit Route 60 is operating on new daily schedule and 62 is operating on new weekday schedules with extension services to Windsor Depot.

The Alameda CTC (County Transportation Commission) is resuming express lane tolling in East Bay for the Sunol Express Lanes on Highway 680 capital project. The Alameda CTC is working closely with JPA (Joint Powers Authority) of therein express lanes capital project regarding tolling fees and enforcement. The capital project JPA is proposing an ordinance and adoption during their meeting on Monday, September 14, 2020 to administer therein tolls and enforcement of toll violation.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is continually working on some capital improvement projects because of the low ridership in San Francisco Bay Area. The COVID-19 health pandemic is creating many challenges in the Bay Area and BART is taking this time for more systematic upgrades. The BART is taking this time to upgrade their aging system including the replacement of power cables in downtown San Francisco. The BART new electrical cables provide power for transporting trains and upgrading the system makes it more safer for commuting passengers.

The VTA is partnering with WRTA (Western Reserve Transit Authority) for automated electric vehicles with fixed route buses and paratransit services. The federal funding award is issued by FTA (Federal Transit Administration) from the U.S. Department of Transportation for therein project infrastructure.

The unfortunate fire situation in North Bay is creating transit services delay in south Solano County within San Francisco Bay Area. The SolTrans staffing is offering an apology to passengers regarding therein transit service delays caused by the fire activities. The fire is impacting residents and business communities and they have to evacuate for safety reasoning and avoiding health problems.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) agency has been transporting people in East Bay for 60 years of thriving services! The AC Transit is working through their service action plan to ensure passengers are traveling safe during transporting activities in East Bay. The transit agency is continually operating with therein COVID-19 health and safety measures to protect passengers and driving operators, and same as other Bay Area transit agencies. The AC Transit is committed to have Health & Wellness elements in place to protect passengers and employees.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is replacing muni railway services with transit buses to accommodate muni passengers in West Bay. Because of an overhead equipment malfunction and TMC (Transportation Management Center) staffing tested positive with COVID-19 virus. That created short staffing for TMC and without well functioning equipment for muni services to operate properly and safely. The SFMTA transit agency has to take appropriate actions quickly to provide safe and alternate proper services for muni passengers.
