The state Caltrans transportation department is advising drivers about highway construction at Presidio in San Francisco, impacting traffic on Highway 1 during next week in March due to roadway overnight closures. Northbound Highway 1 will be closed for Phase-II constructions from Lake Street to Doyle Drive in San Francisco, and Caltrans is encouraging drivers to seek for alternative routes. The overnight approved closing hours will be from 1 AM to 6 AM for Saturday-Sunday, 12 AM to 5 AM for Monday-Thursday, and 1 AM to 5 AM on Friday.

The traffic issues within San Francisco Bay Area is raising more and more concerns including local political leaders and offering to hear from the public regarding latest neighborhood Caltrain accident killing a driver. Menlo Park Councilman Ray Mueller is issuing special working hours for Monday, to discuss the accident that killed Jennifer Koo who was driving her SUV and struck by a Caltrain on the railway tracks.

The commuting BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) passengers on February 20, 2015 may have been exposed to measles riding the trains at approximately 4:20 PM based on a report from San Mateo County health officials. An infected passenger from San Mateo County boarded a BART train from Millbrae to San Francisco BART station at the civic center. This will be the fourth case of infected people in San Mateo County and a second case of passengers riding BART with this medical health infection.

The state legislators will be considering a regulated legislation to avoid future BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) strikes so people don't suffer from lack of transportation within San Francisco Bay Area. The legislative bill introduced by Assemblywoman Catharine Baker is to prevent anymore strikes by BART union members. It will provide both BART and union members with workable legal clauses, to help both sides come to a labor agreement without strikes.

A new VTA headquarters office was open last week in southern part of San Francisco Bay Area on First Street in San Jose. The effort for transportation services innovation, optimal performance level, and to improve roads and infrastructure to ease traffic congestion.

The AC Transit services in San Francisco Bay Area provide approximately 100,000 people commuting on a weekday average, and sometimes get stuck in traffic and leading into unreliable scheduling services. AC Transit is having a study to research for future improvement services generating customer satisfaction for transit passengers. Some passengers are saying sometimes we have too many studies and wasting tax payer's monies, but what we need is acting on what is already in place including enforcement of rules and regulations for people to follow.

A woman traveling in Menlo Park over a crossing train track was struck by Caltrain and died at Stanford Hospital thereafter the accident for critical injuries. A traffic condition caused the traveling woman on the railroad crossing tracks, and a train going up to 79 miles hit the woman's SUV on the passenger side. Creating a crashing loud sound in the neighborhood and local residents and working people can hear the loud booming sound.

The ferry transporting services in Richmond has been approved by CCTA (Contra Costa Transportation Authority) board and awaiting approval by WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) board for a joint agreement for ferry services implementation. The project will approximately cost $40 million to $45 million for ferry vessels and ferry terminal building, and passengers can start ferry services sometimes in 2018 with progressive services.

The Caltrans transportation workers started construction on Broadway overpass ramp on Highway 101 in Burlingame, and creating traffic congestion within San Francisco Bay Area along San Francisco International Airport. The overpass ramp overhaul is anticipated to cost $83 million and making it easier for drivers to navigate after project completion, and planned to replace an existing ramp between Rollins Road and Old Bayshore Highway. The development project started with a ribbon cutting last fall of the oldest intersection ramp in San Mateo County within the Peninsula since 1947.

Transportation is a critical means of life support in San Francisco Bay Area and needs appropriate changes, especially for commuting working class people including families and children. The traffic congestion issues are becoming more and more headaches for drivers, including highways and roadways in the Peninsula regional areas from San Jose to San Francisco.
