She became president of Blue & Gold Fleet within the maritime industry, transporting passengers on ferry services in the Bay Area.

The Wall Street Journal reports Uber lost $800 million regardless of boosted sales in the quarter. The journal reports Uber company shares their lost is because of heavy spending for promotions, investments, and new driver recruitment matters. The company is going through many challenges in California regarding new self-driving cars project, including other legal matters regarding driver's capacity of employment.

The JetBlue Airlines made an investment with JetSuite-X public chartering services within West Coast regional areas. The JetSuite-X chartering services added another destination to Santa Monica, California from SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport). The public chartering services will be using an Embraer 135 jet aircraft for 30 passengers, and new routing flights will begin in February 2017. Flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with passengers earning points aligned with JetBlue frequent flyer programs.

The Google company is rolling out their new autonomous Waymo technology minivans under Alphabet, and catching many eyes during the presentation. The autonomous minivan vehicles are created as a partnership between Waymo and FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). FCA developed the Chrysler Pacifica minivans to be fully autonomous with Waymo technology, including computerized sensor systems and telematics during the vehicle operation.

The Uber self-driving cars have been demanded by San Francisco mayor to stop their operation within San Francisco city limits. However, Uber administration is not stopping their operation as lawfully requested by California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and San Francisco mayor's office. Therefore, California Attorney General's office sent a letter to Uber on Friday regarding a legal injunction approach, to help stop Uber from continuing their self-driving cars operation on public roads.

The Uber self-driving autonomous cars are jeopardizing pedestrian's safety in San Francisco, and the mayor is demanding Uber administration to stop operating within the city. Uber autonomous vehicles are driving through red traffic lights and showing on video cameras, questioning the safety of other drivers and local pedestrians. The San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee is demanding Uber to obtain a lawful permit from California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) to operate within the city.

The celebration at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) was in place because of a business merging approach between Alaska Airlines and Virgin America this week. The Alaska Airlines CEO (Chief Executive Officer) was sharing his remarks at SFO celebration about purchasing Virgin America because it's cool and bigger airlines. The combined merging airlines will have $7.4 billion for annual revenues with 40 million national and international customers.

The Uber self-driving cars started running red traffic lights in San Francisco and jeopardizing safety for local pedestrians and other drivers. The California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) have issued a warning to Uber administration about ceasing their self-driving cars operation on public roads immediately.

The Google administration is rolling out their self-driving cars named Waymo deriving from the company mission. The name alignment is about Google's mission on finding a way of moving forward with mobility, and Waymo project will operate independently under an Alphabet umbrella. Google has been working with autonomous vehicles during the last eight years and housed under the "X" division. Google self-driving vehicles have been driven on public roads for more than 2 million miles within four different national states.

The Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) in San Jose was awarded federal grants for research studies pertaining to efficient transportation systems. The institute won $7 million federal grant funding as part of transportation center programs in San Jose State University. The institute will also receive $3.5 million from local contributions and Caltrans state transportation agency for research elements. Part of specific research projects includes transportation options for disabled people, seniors, usage of self-driving cars, and policy framework to reduce traffic congestion.
