The traffic congestion along Interstate Highway 580 gets bad everyday during commuting hours for working class people in Central Valley. That's exactly why Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty is taking the lead to help Central Valley commuters and seeking to extend BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services. He is proposing to extend BART services to Livermore, and connecting with other transit services between San Jose and Stockton.

The trains transporting passengers within San Francisco Bay Area should have a technology safety device installed. A federal law requires all passenger and freight railroad trains to have the PTC (Positive Train Control) mechanism onboard for safety. The PTC technology system is designed to prevent any train collisions and derailing them from railway tracks. The train brakes will automatically activate when the device captures a sense of possible train collision, and safely preventing train passengers onboard from any accidents.

MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and Motivate is a public-private partnership sponsoring the Bike Share expansion program. The partnership agencies shared biking contour maps within the Bay Area for bicyclists, and potentially growing from 700 to 7,000 bikes within new stations during Spring 2017. The expansion program will take place in developmental phases and having ongoing public meetings with community and business leaders, local residents, etc.

The downtown transit center funding in San Francisco is on hold because of an issue with the Millennium Tower development. The new Millennium Tower in San Francisco has been sinking and raising many questions about development elements involved during the planning process. Leading into halting funding for the Transit Center Transbay second phase development and not releasing $6.8 million for designing work. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously approved to stop releasing transit center funding until further discussions.

The Facebook iconic technology company received authorization to expand its campus including transportation review during the process yesterday. The City of Menlo Park Planning Commission reviewed every elements yesterday regarding the campus expansion including local traffic impact. The EIR (Environmental Impact Report) was part of the approval process as well as removing some trees for the expansion project. Some local city residents shared their concerns about local traffic problems, because it was impacting local communities before Facebook relocated to Menlo Park.

The contracting ProVen Management company is hired to provide work on Sunset Tunnel railway tracking improvement project. The SFMTA staffing report indicates the tunnel needs major repair and seismic overhaul to safely provide power for railway trains.

The Google shuttles in San Francisco has been going through many local challenges in the city and some people appreciate shuttling passengers. Some people in the Bay Area feels politicians are talking about many ways to hopefully resolve local traffic problems, and asking people for more tax money to help without positive results.
