The nationwide governors are having a conference in Washington D.C. and California Governor Brown sent a letter to President Trump regarding transportation infrastructure projects. The letter requests 10 infrastructure improvement projects in San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the State of California. Including San Jose to San Joaquin Valley railway stretch for HSR (High Speed Rail) and traffic lanes along Highway-101 within San Mateo County. The traffic lanes along Highway-101 will help relief traffic congestion and will be managed to direct traffic accordingly.

The Caltrain transit agency has released the engineering contractor scheduled to work on an improvement project. The PTG (Parsons Transportation Group) contractor was hired to install PTC (Positive Train Control) systems on Caltrain transit cars, and is fired because of further project delays since 2015. The Caltrain PTC safety systems were supposed to be installed and operating in 2015, and delayed to 2016 and rescheduled to 2017 for completion. The Caltrain administrators are hoping to have the improvement project completed by December 31, 2018 deadline.

The latest bad weather conditions added more damage to San Francisco Bay Area local roads and highways, and costing more money for repairs. Some of local Bay Area roads remain closed until repair crews cleanup mudslides and fallen rocks on roadways, and some will need repairs on the roadway surface potholes. The Caltrans reporting damages will cost approximately $600 million for repairs because of bad weather conditions. The bad Winter stormy weather condition is doubling the state's budget for emergency and roadway repairs.

The vehicular traffic congestion continues to get worst in San Francisco Bay Area, and traffic in San Francisco is ranked at #2 as worst nationwide. The Traffic Index research study identifies traffic congestion at southern Bay Area in San Jose and Silicon Valley at #5 as worst traffic nationwide. The working class people commuting on local freeways and roadways everyday spent 144 hours in 2016, and showing increase from 24 minutes in 2015 to 38 minutes in 2016. The commuting hours in the morning and evenings get even worst in the eastern Bay Area and throughout San Francisco Bay Area.

The high technological self-driving companies in San Francisco Bay Area is having a legal battle because of technology allegations. The Waymo legal associates filed a lawsuit yesterday in San Francisco federal courts against Uber ride-sharing company. The allegation is because a former top manager working for Google in the past, Anthony Levandowski, left and found a startup called Otto. The Otto company is building self-driving big rig trucks and Uber bought Otto for $680 million last year.

The federal grant for Caltrain's electrification project has been delayed by FTA (Federal Transit Administration). The delayed FTA funding will endanger the full $1.98 billion project for Silicon Valley and most importantly will delay the project. The $647 million federal grant was earmarked for Caltrain to start the railway electrification project and start hiring contracting workers. The project work is schedule to start on March 1, 2017 as the deadline including electric elements from the manufacturing company.

The Oakland A's baseball team is considering public transportation during their search for a new baseball field to make it easier for A's fans. The baseball is considering many different locations within Oakland, California and fans can ride BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) during home games. The team administration is trying to review many possible sites including transportation and environmental protection. Another considerable location is near Lake Merritt and traffic with parking issues are fully reviewed before a final decision for the new A's baseball field location.

The public transit agencies within San Francisco Bay Area are trying to encourage people to ride public transportation and many people don't want to because of unsafe and healthy issues. A passenger riding AC Transit in Richmond, California was arrested because of his misbehavior in the bus, thereafter the driver asked the passenger to behave properly and the passenger refused. The driver placed the passenger under citizen's arrest and called police officers for assistance and passenger was arrested.

The I-580 Richmond/San Rafael Bridge access improvement project is coming along, and latest bad weather condition is making it tougher as planned. The improvement project will ease traffic congestion accessible for vehicles and capacity on the bridge including new routes for non-motorized travelers. It's a long-term project scheduled through the Fall of 2017 and working times will continue, between 7 PM to 6 AM nighttime and daytime 5 AM to 2 PM Monday to Friday.

The highways and roadway bridges in San Francisco Bay Area needs ongoing repairs and maintenance for safety reasoning.
