The City of San Francisco is developing new ways of supporting Vision Zero goals by 2024 protecting local bicyclists and pedestrians. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is working closely with Public Works Department to ensure new street designs are implemented appropriately as planned. The "Protected Intersection" project is a collaboration partnership that cost $350,000 to make sure pedestrians and bicyclists are safe on city streets.

The Uber self-driving cars debut drew many public safety concerns and DMV including San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee, highly requested a permit from Uber to operate on city streets.

Trump as President-Elect to be sworn into office on January 20, 2017, as official President of United States of America, and American Public Transportation Association (APTA) will advocate for federal funding on local transportation projects.

The self-driving autonomous vehicles trending approach is catching more auto making companies nationwide and international. Honda Motors are sharing their interest with Waymo's technology approach, and may become another auto making industrial company within the partnership. The similar partnership Waymo has with FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) when they approved to provide minivans for Waymo technology alignment. Honda Motors could benefit from the Waymo partnership based on road experience, and Honda Motors have been developing automated driving functions.

As vehicle traffic in San Francisco Bay Area gets worse on local highways and roadways, technology companies are partnering with transportation agencies for hopeful resolutions. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) agency shared partnering with Waze for local traffic relief and easing traffic within the Bay Area. The partnership intends to provide drivers with real-time traffic data, including road condition information to ease traffic on regional roadways. Waze will share collected information by its users on a cellphone app about traffic as well as road conditions.

The President of Blue & Gold Fleet has announced her retirement at the end of 2016 thereafter 43 years with maritime industry in San Francisco. Carolyn Horgan, President of Blue & Gold Fleet, is a female pioneer within San Francisco Bay Area since 1973. She elevates her skillful techniques through the ranks with honors during her career within water transportation operational systems. She became president of Blue & Gold Fleet within the maritime industry, transporting passengers on ferry services in the Bay Area.

The Wall Street Journal reports Uber lost $800 million regardless of boosted sales in the quarter. The journal reports Uber company shares their lost is because of heavy spending for promotions, investments, and new driver recruitment matters. The company is going through many challenges in California regarding new self-driving cars project, including other legal matters regarding driver's capacity of employment.

The JetBlue Airlines made an investment with JetSuite-X public chartering services within West Coast regional areas. The JetSuite-X chartering services added another destination to Santa Monica, California from SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport). The public chartering services will be using an Embraer 135 jet aircraft for 30 passengers, and new routing flights will begin in February 2017. Flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with passengers earning points aligned with JetBlue frequent flyer programs.
