The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) Express Lanes Program is making progressive relief for traffic congestion in Silicon Valley. The VTA Express Lanes Program has been operating since March 2012, and more express lanes will be implemented within Santa Clara County. The five year program has been showing success for drivers time savings at 30% along highway State Route 237 (SR237) between North First Street in San Jose and Highway 880. The drivers without passengers can use express lanes and pay a fee while other carpool vehicular drivers can use it for free.

The AC Transit (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) has operated therein Flex Services pilot project for two weeks and showing excitement. The one-year pilot services project started Monday, March 27, 2017 and it's a dynamic reservation based transit services project. The Flex Services project is an alternative transportation for local residential passengers to eliminate waiting time for regular AC Transit buses. It operates during daytime from 6 AM to 8 PM Monday to Friday excluding holidays and designed for smaller 12 passengers seating shuttles.

The California legislation to fix crumbling San Francisco Bay Area roads and highways as well as statewide has been approved. The next step is for Governor Jerry Brown to sign it and becomes active, and California drivers have to pay more to drive in the state. Because the SB1 (Senate Bill-1) legislation means people have to pay more taxes and more money to register their cars. The SB1 approved state legislation is targeting to raise $5.2 billion a year during 10 years.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) officials released a strategic Plan Bay Area 2040 for next two decades. The MTC and ABAG have been sharing information with public input thereafter two years of discussions and will share the draft during open house sessions.

The San Francisco voters approved $500 million transportation bond in 2014 to improve public transportation for passengers. The local legislators are also sharing concerns about the voter approved bond measure to improve public transportation.

A lawsuit was filed yesterday by Disability Rights Advocates legal group along with disabled people regarding filth and accessibility. The disability legal group is suing BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) in San Francisco because of filthy and unhealthy station environment allegations. The legal advocates and disabled people alleges elevators and escalators are routinely out of services at BART stations, and regularly with human/animal feces or urine. It creates hardship and makes it not accessible for disabled people at BART stations, and violating federal and state disability laws.

The San Francisco Bay Area is home for 3 major transporting airports, and U.S. airline pilots are calling out and blaming American Airlines of manipulating arrivals and departures timing. The ACBJ research airport rankings identified SJC (San Jose International Airport) as #1 nationwide for airport performance.

The Caltrain local improvement projects are continually moving forward with progress and transit electrification system funding is still uncertain.
