Therein quantified research findings are subjective and spotlighting where the industry is heading, and airports leading the services charge for performance.

The historic San Francisco cable cars are planning to become overhauled for reliability and quality services for passengers. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) officials are planning to replace gearboxes for cable cars tentatively during the summertime. The last cable car systems overhaul has been over 35 years ago and it's time to upgrade the system to be reliable. The equipment replacement will cause individual cable car lines to shutdown during each line overhaul repairs, and alternative transit systems will be available for passengers.

The American Airlines announced it's planning to offer free meals to flight travelers in economy on certain cross country flights. The free meals will begin during May 1, 2017 for nonstop flights between New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The air travelers will get a continental breakfast or sandwich wrap, chips and dessert, and/or vegetarian meal or fruit-and-cheese plate.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is having public open house events for traffic control improvement projects in local neighborhood areas. The SFMTA had an open house at the public library on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in San Francisco's Richmond District. The 8th Avenue improvement project in San Francisco was on display and public review for feedback, and transit officials are calling it "neighborway" project. The project effort is to make residential streets safer for pedestrians and have traffic control from violating drivers.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) extension in Fremont, California is scheduled to finally open for services on March 25, 2017. The extension project broke grounds during 2009 and has been delayed because of ongoing training as well as updating new technology materials for passenger safety. The BART extension project has been going through challenges and scheduled to have an opening ceremony on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 10 AM. The new BART station will have 42 electrical charging stations including connections to AC Transit and VTA transportation systems.

The Intel Corporation is purchasing Mobileye software sensors for driverless autonomous cars in San Francisco Bay Area. The acquisition cost is $15.3 billion for Intel to excel within the autonomous self-driving cars competition. The company boards have to approve the final deal transaction and Intel Corporation will pay $63.54 for each share. The automakers have been testing self-driving cars in California, Michigan, and other states in America and needing higher levels of connection with driving sensors.

The Alaska Airlines officials announced 13 new flight routes in the Bay Area to expand its operations in Northern California. The airlines officials are adding 3 new flights out of SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport) and 10 new flights out of SFO (San Francisco International Airport). The competitive airlines carrier bought Virgin America in December 2016 and starting new flight routes in August 28, 2017 flights. Alaska Airlines already connects nonstop flights from SJC to 16 cities, OAK (Oakland International Airport) flights to 6 cities, and SFO to 8 cities.

The public transportation agency serving Santa Clara County is recruiting community citizens to serve on Measure-B oversight committee. The voters in Santa Clara County recently approved therein tax measure to help with local transportation improvement projects. The Measure-B tax initiative will raise $6.4 billion within next 30 years, and not including matching funds during that period - collection will begin April 1, 2107. The measure is to establish a committee of 8 citizenship members and VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) will manage improvement projects.

The massive Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco is uncertain about funding to efficiently operate all systems accordingly. The transit center development is south of Mission Street between Second and Beale streets, and serving approximately 14,000 commuters everyday on AC Transit buses. The HSR (High Speed Rail) train is planning to become part of the transit center operating system, and reality is starting to sink into city officials about questionable funding.

The Toyota Motors company is designing a new 3 wheel vehicle called iRoad that operates on electrical power. It can fit one person and drives up to 28 miles per hour with a compact size, and good for getting around town for tours and sightseeing. The Toyota Motors engineers and administrators are hoping to test therein small compact vehicle in San Francisco Bay Area soon. The iRoad vehicle is being tested within the company Open Road program since September with hopes to test it using Bay Area roads in two years.
