The Qatar Airlines announced their plans to start serving SFO (San Francisco International Airport) possibly starting next year. The Bay Area airports have been reeling in airlines with more air traveling flights and SFO gets the latest airline within the air transportation competition. The Qatar Airlines displayed their business traveling environment within flights and catching interesting business air traveling viewers. The SFO services will be available for daily flights possibly during the second quarter next year in 2018.

The San Francisco Bay Area "Bike To Work Day" is coming next week on Thursday, May 11, 2017 and encouraging people to register. The Bike To Work Day is part of the national bike month and energy stations will be along the biking routes for bicyclists. Including free refreshments and energy drinks with nutritional elements for bicyclists at various energy stations. The event is sponsored by MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and Kaiser Permanent with many local agencies including media sponorship by NBC-KNTV and Telemundo-48.

The new muni light railway trains are ready for operation on Monday thereafter for testing for passengers safety reasoning. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) new railway trains will complete testing as scheduled on Sunday. These new trains are part of 24 total new railway trains arriving within sometime towards the end of 2018. The effort is to increase muni's local light railway system fleet for passengers at least 50%, and modernize the muni trains internal environment for safety.

The United Airlines announced it will raise to $10,000 for payments to customers giving up their seats starting Friday. The effort is to provide passengers optional ways to resolve and reduce overbooking flights, and not eliminating the sales of more tickets for passengers. This approach is because of the recent passenger problems with United Airlines during a flight, and how the passenger was allegedly removed from therein flight. The United Airlines officials mentioned reducing particular flights with poor tracking records of finding volunteer passengers giving up their seats.

The San Francisco Bay Area Tesla Motors company announced their plans to add new supercharging stations in Silicon Valley and nationwide. The supercharging stations will be doubled from 5,000 to 10,000 by the end of this year, and also increasing destination chargers. The destination charging locations are at places like hotels and restaurants, and increasing from 9,000 to 15,000 for customers. The Tesla Motors company is also planning to add 1,000 new charging stations within California alone, and one charging station within each city in Silicon Valley regional areas.

The Marin County leaders and local activists are gearing up for Plan Bay Area 2040 community reviews and comments next month. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) recently released the draft of therein future planning approach in the Bay Area. The MTC and ABAG agencies are inviting local people to review the plan draft and share comments for improvements. Some county leaders and activists feel the draft will not be used to assign new requirements for zoning accommodations on population growth.

The recently ratified new state legislation for funding to help with statewide transportation isn't enough based on new research findings. The SB1 (Senate Bill-1) state legislation introduced by California State Senator, Jim Beall, D-San Jose was approved to increase car gas taxes and registration fees. The SB1 state legislation will raise funding to fix crumbling highways and roadways in San Francisco Bay Area and statewide - $5.2 billion annually in 10 years. The new study identifies more money is necessary to fix the backlog of state transportation projects and long-term maintenance.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) passengers were robbed by many juveniles over the weekend at Oakland Coliseum station. The juveniles robbed passengers on Saturday around 9:30 PM and took purses, cell phones, etc. and some passenger victims were harmed with head and facial injuries. The juveniles were able to disperse through the crowd and surrounding areas at the station before police officers arrived for security. The BART Administration just hired a Police Chief to oversee the operation for public safety and taking appropriate actions when necessary.

The California State Assembly legislation for safety streets in San Francisco and San Jose has passed the first committee. The AB342 (Assembly Bill-342) was introduced by Assemblymember David Chiu, D-San Francisco representative to provide safety streets in the Bay Area. When therein legislation is fully approved through the procedural process and signed into law, it will provide a five-year pilot project to use automated cameras for safety measures. The Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) approach is to help local law enforcement agencies prevent speeding cars within local communities.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) is having construction on the runway for safety reasoning and creating flight cancellation and delays for travelers. The air travelers flying through SFO yesterday and today on Monday morning is finding their flight is delayed or cancelled because of the construction project. Some of traveling passengers flights have been diverted to SJC (San Jose International Airport) and/or OAK (Oakland International Airport).
