The San Francisco voters approved bonding funds to improve transportation in The City and SFMTA is not spending it fast enough as appropriated. The SFMTA Board of Directors have been discussing how $26 million bond money should be spent quicker if not for programs to improve muni bus and train services.

The Alaska Airlines have ratified a program for frequent-flyers allowing them for status extension thereafter a child birth. The program is called "Elite Leave" for the Alaska Mileage Program frequent-flyers to extend their status for an additional year when they are on parental leave. The Alaska Airlines new Elite Leave program is taking another step to best serve customers and embracing innovation. Parents have to provide the airline with proof of the pregnancy with a note from the doctor and/or an employer to qualify for the Elite Leave program.

The SCTA (Sonoma County Transportation Authority) approved $26 million for various local improvement transportation projects. These county transportation projects are funded by federal and state funding through the One Bay Area Grant Program managed by MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission). The improvement projects will include repaving local roadways, bicycle and pedestrian pathways over bridges and highways, as well as repairs for local traffic congestion areas.

The AC Transit Board of Directors and and OUSD (Oakland Unified School District) reached an agreement to save transportation services for students. The AC Transit and OUSD have created a bridge funding approach to temporarily protect transit services for students until the end of fiscal year 2017-2018. The Ac Transit bus line services will extend to transport students attending Skyline High, Montera Middle, and Community Day schools. This partnership effort was made possible because of other funding sources from local and government agencies assistance.

The BART administration is setting new environmental goals to have 90% low and zero carbon emission by 2025 and 100% zero carbon sources by 2035.
