The Lyft Inc. ride-sharing company announced their efforts to develop self-driving autonomous cars in San Francisco Bay Area. The company team is expecting to grow and planning to have approximately several hundred employees by the end of 2018. The company will start developing autonomous vehicle technology in their new office in Palo Alto, and launching earlier this year the open data platform. The Lyft team will be working along with Alphabet Inc. and the Waymo project regarding self-driving car developmental projects.

The passengers on BART commuting system in San Francisco Bay Area got a surprise with a loud voice of a man yelling threats to passengers. The man yelled "I'm going to stab all of you" as passengers are waiting at accessible BART boarding gates. A passenger Mike Hohndorf along with other passengers informed BART police officers about the threats and reporting the incident problem. It appears that Mike Hohndorf believes BART police officers failed to take therein threatening disturbing person seriously and not protecting passengers.

The City of Redwood City council members approved around $7.2 million to redesign Highway 101 and 84 roadway interchange to ease vehicular traffic. The interchange project will be in a resolution format including funding for the project management. The Highway 101 and 84 roadway (Woodside Road) interchange project will change on and off ramps including widening Woodside Road. The lanes on Woodside Road will become six lanes and improving safety for drivers and commuters.

The new San Francisco muni railway trains are being tested over the weekends by muni light railway vehicles supervisor. The future of muni fleet of new trains control area is comprised of electronic sensors on the train's underside, and connected with electronic cables inside the control cabin. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) new trains are blasting through Sunset Tunnel near Duboce and Church streets during testing activities.

The Caltrain Electrification project groundbreaking is a symbolic step forward of starting the project construction development. Many elected public officials attended therein Caltrain groundbreaking ceremony at Millbrae Caltrain Station on Friday. The project will electrify the Peninsula's Caltrain commuter railway and celebration of earmarked federal funding to support the project to make it happen. The BART officials and police officers are trying to use various tools with new initiatives to stop violent crimes at transit locations and on its trains. The BART Police Chief and administrators are looking at robbery issues along with other criminal activities for resolution.

The San Francisco Bay Area local roadways for traveling and transporting for people are the worst in 3 cities within the Bay Area. The latest research study by WalletHub identifies awful roadways within the country and 3 cities within San Francisco Bay Area: 1) San Francisco, 2) Oakland, and 3) Fremont. The vehicular traffic congestion along with worst roadways in the Bay Area is not good for transportation elements. The potholes and cracks on roadways start to surface thereafter bad weather conditions, and creating unsafe and unhealthy human conditions for people.

The San Francisco central subway transit project is showing delays for approximately 10 months and local business owners are not happy. The transit project is having a central subway going from San Francisco Chinatown to Union Square, and connecting with BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and metro muni systems. The project digging underground going into northern areas along with delays because of construction scheduling dispute with contractors. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) staffing released a modified proposal for the draft Plan Bay Area 2040 report, and the final EIR (Environmental Impact Report) for consideration. The assessment report will be considered during the MTC and ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) joint meeting on Friday, July 14, 2017. The MTC and ABAG members are scheduled to vote on the final Plan Bay Area 2040 and EIR report during their joint meeting on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
