The SamTrans and Caltrain transit agencies are partnering to "Dump The Pump Day" in San Francisco Bay Area on June 21, 2018. The APTA (American Public Transportation Association) agency started the National Dump The Pump Day during 2006 and SamTrans with Caltrain partnership is driving that effort in the Bay Area. The partnership demonstration is sharing with people how taking public transportation can save money and saving our environment. The SamTrans and Caltrain transit Board of Directors approved Thursday, June 21, 2018 for people to Dump The Pump Day.

The Facebook company will begin a ferry service for employees across the Bay Area and transporting them to Port of Redwood City. The Facebook working commuters will get into a shuttle bus at Port of Redwood City and transport them to working locations. The Port of Redwood City officials approved a contract with PropSF to operate new ferry services for Facebook thereafter the company hiring process. The ferry services contract will be for 6 months pilot project and PropSF will provide 10 daily ferry service trips.

The electric vehicles will get more charging stations within San Francisco Bay Area costing more than $6 million for therein project. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District approved identified funding to initiate the electrical charging stations project. It will install more than 2,000 electric vehicle charging stations in the Bay Area locations convenient for the people. Including workplaces, local schools, transportation agencies, as well as living apartment locations within San Francisco Bay Area.

The Caltrans Agency is planning to reopen Highway-1 coastal regional area in Monterey County thereafter repairs because of massive mudslides. The highway reopening is planning for the end of July 2018 if everything goes well as scheduled, and not September as Caltrans announced on Tuesday. The Highway-1 has been under major damages and mudslides since December 2016, and worse mudslides during May 2017 last year. The debris from highway mudslides made it worse with damages moving into the ocean within 15 acres of coastline covered areas.

The Caltrain transit agency is expanding the Bikes Board First Program including stations in Sunnyvale, Hillsdale, and 22nd Street station in San Francisco. The Caltrain program will allow bikers to board first in their particular train cars and staffing will assist when necessary. The program will help expedite the boarding process for passengers and helping save some commuting time. Because transit agency staffing observed 66% of train delays were from boarding passengers and more time with bicycles onboard.

The new muni bus services at Salesforce Transit Center will open this Saturday, June 16, 2018 for the first phase of services. The new Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco is planning to open during this summertime and more transit services will be available. Including transbay services from East Bay regional locations and throughout San Francisco Bay Area for commuters. The Caltrain services and HSR (High Speed Rail) trains will use an underground station at therein Salesforce Transit Center.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is rolling out more new trains thereafter launching operation on Wednesday. The LRV4 (Light Rail Vehicles) of 2 car-trains connected with another 2 car-trains make it 4 connected LRV railway car trains. The SFMTA new LRV4 railway trains are rolling out thereafter receiving their approval from California PUC (Public Utilities Commission) for a safety certified operation. The new trains are operating daily along N-Judah railway lines with more capacity for passengers to avoid crowded trains.

The Facebook and San Mateo County Transit District is forming a partnership for Dumbarton Bridge corridor transportation projects. The partnership agencies will work on planning and infrastructure development for the Dumbarton Bridge traffic issues and exploring transit resolutions. It could also reopen the Dumbarton Bridge Railway for transit services to hopefully avoid traffic congestion in the Bay Area. The partnership feasibility approach is to make it easier for passengers crossing the bay without traffic problems - East Bay and Peninsula/West Bay commuters.

The RM3 (Regional Measure 3) initiative successfully passed by voters during June 5, 2018 election within San Francisco Bay Area by 54%. That means Bay Area bridge tolls will increase by $1 consistently each following 3 years and not the Golden Gate Bridge tolls. The Caltrain transit agency has won the Project Achievement Award in transportation for their Los Gatos Creek Bridge Replacement Project. The award was issued by CMAA (Construction Management Association of America) for therein Caltrain's project achievement in Northern California. It recognizes the transit agency professionalism and excellence with the project construction and safety standards. The project was to replace the old bridge and maintaining safety transport for passengers using the railway system and operational standards.
