The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) and Public Health Department in Santa Clara County is offering free training for bicyclists - Smart Cycling Training. The partnership agencies are offering therein training for bicyclists to become familiar with laws aligned with riding bicycles on public roads. To avoid any possible accidents and/or become more safe on public roads because of lawful roadway rules and regulations. The Smart Cycling Training will provide bicyclists more techniques and tools for awareness and becoming safety on public roads.

The Uber company announced their self-driving cars are off the road and will stop all testing modes because of a deadly accident in Tempe, Arizona. The Uber self-driving car hit a pedestrian female while crossing the street and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim was a 49 year old female named Elaine Herzberg when she was transported to a local hospital where she passed away from injuries. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) installation crews started to put in place barriers to protect bicyclists from Uber and Lyft cars on Valencia Street in San Francisco. Including new street painting and vertical flex posting items to avoid double parking for cars in bike lanes as part of the Valencia Bikeway Improvement project. The bike lanes improvement project will hopefully reduce accidents with bicyclists within the neighborhood and improving safety.

The California HSR (High Speed Rail) train production from San Francisco to Los Angeles is costing more than estimated with many challenges. The HSR operational costing amount jumps to $77 billion and opening date is pushed back to four years according to released announcement. The last estimated presentation during 2016 was $64 billion and opening date sometimes during 2029, and now with higher costing amount along with new opening date of 2033. The HSR project has been going through many challenges including legal issues of concerns along the railway routing direction.

The public transit systems in San Francisco Bay Area are looking at getting Wi-Fi on transit trains and buses for passengers. Because other public transit systems don't have Wi-Fi onboard and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is negotiating with a contracting vendor to install Wi-Fi at its 46 local stations. Including its 775 new BART cars and hoping to have a deal solidified during this Summer season, and Caltrain will have Wi-Fi systems in electrified trains in 2022.

The Tesla Motors autonomous semi trucks revealed a trip carrying battery packs from the Gigafactory location in Sparks, Nevada to Fremont, California. The first production silver semi truck travels all electric long-range and framed to span over 250 miles at 400 km between Nevada and Tesla car factory in California. The Tesla Motors will use their own semi trucks to deliver between company locations and become its own customer for reliability. The semi truck charging stations will be installed between key locations for fleet operators with enough electric range distance.

The UC Berkeley study research identifies sea levels around SFO (San Francisco International Airport) will rise and sending SFO runways underwater by 2100. The Dr. Roland Burgmann, Professor, Earth & Planetary Science, UC Berkeley released his research study predicting sea levels will rise one foot or more during 2030. Therein rising water will endanger Treasure Island and northern runways of SFO airport, and study data was analyzed based on elevation measurements.

The Golden State Warriors new stadium in San Francisco will have muni train stop platforms and will double to accommodate sporting fans when the Chase Center opens in 2019. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is hoping to rebuild and redesign the arena muni platforms for train stops accommodating more railway trains. The project cost has elevated to $33 million which is $6 million more than anticipated - contracting costs were estimated at $27 million.

The California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) issued the first autonomous shuttle vehicle operational license plate to EasyMile company driverless shuttles. The autonomous vehicles license plate allows it to operate on California public roads and it happened this morning in San Ramon, California. Therein driverless vehicle with no driver, no steering wheel, no brake pedals, and no accelerator was operating at Bishop Ranch business park. It's goal is having the EasyMile shuttles help with connecting passengers to local transportation locations.
