A tour bus driver was arrested on Friday for DUI (Driving Under Influence) during a wine tour in Sonoma/Napa Valley with passengers onboard. The passengers were able to convince therein driver to pull over and park the vehicle, and responding CHP (California Highway Patrol) officers arrived after passengers called around 5:40 PM. The passengers tried to keep waking up therein driver behind the wheel, and reported to CHP their driver was drunk and having problems staying in roadway lanes.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) administration issued a letter to airport cab drivers to stop urinating and defecating at the airport taxi parking lot. The SFO Police Officers and parking officials will be cracking down on taxi drivers to ensure they are not urinating and/or defecating at airport parking lots. The SFO Police Officers will increase patrolling therein airport identified areas during the day and late night. The corresponding letter identifies the urinating and/or defecating condition is becoming a health hazard for people.

The Alaska Airlines and United Airlines are changing local routes within San Francisco Bay Area effective this week for air travelers awareness. The Alaska Airlines will end Horizon Air daily flights from SJC/San Jose International Airport to Eugene, Oregon as well as services from Portland, Oregon to Pasco, Washington. The United Airlines will end its CRJ-200 daily flight services between SFO/San Francisco International Airport and Victoria, B.C. on January 7, 2019.

The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding Caltrain $18.7 million for PTC (Positive Train Control) installation for passengers safety onboard. The federal infrastructure funding is issued through FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) with 28 grant funding projects. The federal funding is for 3 projects within San Francisco Bay Area and 1 project in Southern California. The funding allocation for Caltrain project is to build enhancement elements for the PTC safety control system.

The transit services for Twin Peaks tunnel is being restored this coming weekend with normal scheduled lines K, L, and M thereafter two months of tunnel construction repairs. The regular services for West Portal and Forest Hill will be back to normal with regular transit lines. The construction repair crews are finalizing testing rounds with new train tracks, and drainage systems to operate properly without problems. Part of electrical repairs upgrade will be done during low ridership hours to avoid any delays.

The teamster union members blocked corporate shuttle buses in San Francisco because of labor disagreements with driver's contract. The shuttle buses continue to transport employees to Facebook, Apple, LinkedIn, Tesla, Google and Salesforce tech companies. The transporting shuttle services for each bus was disrupted for approximately 7-10 minutes and employees were transported safely. The union members are hoping to pressure therein tech companies to offer shuttle drivers a reasonable pension package plan.

A coalition in Menlo Park is submitting a petition to San Mateo County for roadway changes to make Santa Cruz Avenue more safer and minimizing traffic congestion. The local residents are proposing changes between Sand Hill Road and Alameda De Las Pulgas along therein roadway where it splits. The coalition is requesting an activated pedestrian signal for the crosswalk at Santa Cruz Avenue and bicycle pathways for safety reasoning. The San Mateo County Transportation staffing is working closely with a consultant for a technical analysis plan for improvement.

The traffic lanes on Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco will be shifting starting tomorrow on Thursday, August 23, 2018 in both directions. The lanes downtown changing is part of the Van Ness traffic improvement project and overhauling between Lombard and Mission streets. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) project is shifting lanes to make accessible space during construction. It will extend construction zones on eastern side of Van Ness Avenue and will install sidewalk fencing for pedestrians.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and local transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area are opposing Proposition-6 for upcoming election. Because the proposition would repeal a state gas tax increase to generate funding revenues for transportation improvement projects. The California state legislatures ratified SB1 (Senate Bill-1) in 2017 and enacted approval for SB1 funding allocation. The SB1 funding revenues will be cancelled if therein proposition is approved by voters in upcoming election.

The local schools are back in session within San Francisco Bay Area and transit agencies are advocating for safety protecting our children. The local Bay Area transit agencies are displaying "Drive Safe" digital signs on transit signals along with other safety digital signs. Other transit agencies are changing bus routes and making it easier for children returning back to school. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is adding more muni transit bus services and discount fees for school youth.
