The widening of SR-84 (State Route 84/Highway 84) to help with traffic congestion and ease traffic on highways I-580 and I-680 in San Francisco Bay Area. The Alameda CTC (County Transportation Commission) is committed for having $213.5 million funding available for local improvement projects. The construction of three improvement projects have been completed and expressway segment lanes for SR-84 highway is completed, and open ahead of time during November 2018 for the public. The SR-84 expressway widening and I-680 highway interchange improvement project is currently in the design phase, and anticipating to begin construction during early 2021.
