The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) board will consider safety projects for disadvantaged communities in Tenderloin and South of Market neighborhoods in San Francisco. The safety projects will transform safety elements for pedestrians and bicyclists in therein communities to minimize and/or avoid traffic injuries and fatalities. The records show 47% of fatal collisions with highest percentage of injuries within those disadvantaged communities of concerns.

The election season is here with pending critical results for Proposition 6 because of transportation projects in San Francisco Bay Area and statewide. The proposition initiative is to repeal therein gas tax and vehicle registration fees increase. The state legislatures approved therein gas tax increase and car registration fees to help fund transportation improvement projects statewide. Proposition 6 is on the upcoming election in November and it would jeopardize funding for transportation project needs if approved by the people.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) Board of Directors approved $13 million contract to build a new high speed ferry in San Francisco Bay Area. The contract is awarded to Mavrik Marine Inc. to build therein 300 passengers high speed vessel for ferry services improvement. The high speed vessel will enhance ferry services for San Francisco Bay Area and expected to be in service during 2020. It's another vessel added to therein WETA fleet of ferry vessels to improve services for passengers since 2017.

The Caltrans transportation agency is planning to demolish the old Willow Road overpassing Highway 101 in San Francisco Bay Area. The demolition development process may take up to 17 weeknights from 9 PM to 5 AM between Monday, October 8, 2018 and Thursday, October 25, 2018. The Caltrans agency will replace the old with new overpass steel with piles to ensure drivers are safely crossing over the highway. The Caltrans agency must demolish therein overpass work during night time because it will not be safe while Highway 101 is still operating.

The San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf are partnering to seek some assistance for Salesforce Transit Center investigation. The two mayors are calling for MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) to assist with assessing and evaluate the cause of therein transit center cracked steel beams. The Salesforce Transit Center is closed because of discovered cracked steel beams and investigating therein cause of the problem.

The U.S Navy Blue Angels fleet air show is happening today in San Francisco during this year soaring throughout the Bay Area sky. The Blue Angels fleet week air shows will happen throughout the weekend including other fun activities for families and children. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is recommending people to use public transportation to see the Fleet Week air shows. The SFMTA administration is offering military personnel free muni bus rides to honor their services and U.S Navy Fleet Week.

The City of Redwood City council members approved a ferry services study within their city port costing up to $510,000. The study will provide appropriation findings to find out if ferry services can be operated out of the city port or not. The funding for therein ferry services study will partly come from San Mateo County Transportation Authority funds under Measure-A initiative - $450,000. The remaining amount for the study will come from Redwood City budgetary expenditures for transportation.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is celebrating Third Annual Transit Week for public transportation riders starting next week. The celebration activities will begin at San Francisco City Hall on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 9:30 AM with ride along in muni transit. The ride along in muni transit will include local and state legislatures to raise public transit visibility for awareness. The SFMTA is recorded the greenest transit agency in North America and Transit Week celebration is recognizing transit riders.

The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) selected SJC (San Jose International Airport) with another airport to test safety equipment elements. The federal testing equipment approach will cost up to $10 million for assessment aligned with H.R. 1625 Consolidated Appropriations Act. It will test equipment within airport perimeters with technology for a range of analytical factors using software necessities. Including the installation of cameras and videos for visual reviews with various sensors and radars for safety.

The San Francisco Transportation Authority approved therein routing extension for Caltrain to reach downtown Salesforce Transit Center. The Caltrain tracks extension will go along Pennsylvania Avenue with a tunnel project costing amount of $6.1 billion for the construction. The extension project would allow Caltrain access to Salesforce Transit Center for daily commuting passengers. The railway tracks extension for Caltrain will become eventually used by HSR (High Speed Rail) trains to reach San Francisco.
