The United Airlines and Delta Airlines are banning emotional support animals for traveling passengers because of increasing problems and safety issues. It's an effort to tighten safety rules and policies to protect traveling passengers with families and children. Some people are saying,"It's good and about time to stop it for protection because many people are misusing the word freedom in America." The United Airlines new policy will take effect on January 7, 2019 with new changes for safety reasoning.

The new year comes with new transit fares for some transportation agencies in San Francisco Bay Area. Including transbay services fare by AC (Alameda Contra Costa) Transit District taking effect on January 1, 2019 in which adults will pay $5.50 oneway trip. The oneway transbay fare will be $2.75 for seniors, disabled, and youth traveling across the bay for work and/or personal endeavors. The new fares will certainly help with more comfortable transbay services for passengers and improvement projects.

Happy New 2019! The new year brings new laws for drivers in San Francisco Bay Area and statewide for safety reasoning to prevent more vehicular accidental issues of concern. Some of the new laws will include having an ignition interlock device installation for repeat, and first time offenders for DUI (Driving Under Influence) drivers. The interlock device can be in place for 12 to 48 months depending on the judge decision with discretionary consideration. The other new laws will include car dealers to attach a temporary license plate before the car rolls out on public roads.

The AAA (American Automobile Association) is offering free car towing for impaired drivers during New Year's Eve parties in San Francisco Bay Area. The AAA wants to provide a safe ride for drivers to their homes and/or destinations without having a car accident. It's an effort to educate drivers about the danger of driving while impaired to reduce vehicular accidents and injuries - called AAA Tipsy Tow. The free towing will start Monday, December 31, 2018 at 6 PM until Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at 6 AM.

The people in San Francisco Bay Area are preparing for New 2019 party events and transit agencies are partnering to ensure people will be safe during transportation. All transit agencies are encouraging people to take public transportation and leave the driving to bus drivers. The local transit agencies are offering free and complimentary bus rides for passengers - it can be safe and secure for traveling passengers. Because many New Year events are happening in the Bay Area and starting 2019 with safety elements would be great!

The holiday season is coming to end in San Francisco Bay Area with fire works during New Year's Eve 2019, and transit agencies are offering free bus rides for passengers. The local Bay Area transit agencies are encouraging people to leave their cars at home and have a free ride on local buses. Especially going to parties and/or watching fireworks and taking transit buses can become safer on the road to avoid car accidents. The fireworks show in San Francisco is always crowded with more people and car traffic can become a problem.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is running longer hours during New Year's Eve 2019 until 3 AM on January 1, 2019. The BART agency has ingrained therein extending operational hours during New Year's Eve since 2005 to prevent traffic jams on local roadways. Including an effort to keep drunken drivers off the roads and highways to prevent car accidents and injuries. The BART trains will stop services at 3 AM to prevent any problems on the platforms and restart trains at 8 AM on New Year's Day.

The Caltrain holiday toy drive was successful in partnership with Silicon Valley Community Foundation and local transit agencies. It collected more than 3,000 toys with approximately $2,000 during the Holiday Train activities to benefit children during the holiday season. The toys will be given to Salvation Army and $15,000 donation to Toys for Tots program for children gifts. Including $50,000 through sponsorship for therein Holiday Train toy collection with many support throughout communities.

The BATA (Bay Area Toll Authority) is reminding drivers about tolls increase for transportation bridges within San Francisco Bay Area. The BATA administers and manages bridge toll operations and works closely with MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission). The bridge tolls will increase effective January 1, 2019 for seven local transportation bridges including Golden Gate Bridge. The tolls for Golden Gate Bridge is administered and managed by Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) is recruiting for next summer transit internships from San Francisco Bay Area high schools. The high school students must be 16 years old and completed 10th, 11th, and 12th grades by next summer 2019. The MTC transit internships will be paid $15 per hour and working in any county within San Francisco Bay Area with transportation staffing. The internship orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, 2019 and hired interns can work full-time or part-time.
