The Richmond-San Rafael bridge bicycles and pedestrians pathway project is scheduled to open during this fall season. Including the installation of therein movable concrete barrier to separate traveling cars from bicycles and pedestrians pathway. The Caltrans maintenance crew will operate a machine called "Zipper Truck" to align therein movable concrete barrier with the flow of traffic.

The Bay To Breakers human race in San Francisco is happening this weekend on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 8 AM to 1 PM for many people. The legendary race is drawing more than 110,000 people of interest to have some fun and participates with different costumes. It also draws an interest of some racing people running to make history and/or winning the race and having fun winning it. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is making transit changes for various routes to help local residents and Bay To Breakers participants.

The Vision Zero initiative is progressively moving forward to protect pedestrians and bicyclists in local communities within San Francisco. It's a road safety initiative to build safer communities and strongly protecting pedestrians and bicyclists. The drivers in San Francisco are beginning to see more visual signs and/or changing street turns to highly protect pedestrians while walking on city streets. The SFPD (San Francisco Police Department) is enforcing new changes for protection and issuing traffic tickets to driving violators.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) administration is changing pickup locations for passengers taking Uber and/or Lyft ride sharing cars at the airport. The SFO ground transportation announced for passengers arriving at SFO airport and taking ride sharing cars will have to wait at specified parking lots. These changes will happen in June 3, 2019 to help improve the flow of traffic with fairness to all transportation providers. The new passenger pickup locations for ride sharing cars will be in therein domestic hourly parking garage.

The SFCTA (San Francisco County Transportation Authority) is not releasing muni funding request for SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority) for muni trains. The recent investigations identified mechanical issues with therein muni railway train doors are not operating properly. It shows therein faulty train doors would lock on objects including passengers and a woman's hand was trapped in the train doorway. The SFMTA new muni fleet will cost $1.1 billion and requesting $62 million to fast-track therein fleet expansion project.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) agency may put a ballot measure to extend therein tax funding for transit improvement projects in North Bay. The voters in Sonoma and Marin counties approved a sales tax for 20 years during 2008 elections, and may ask voters to extend therein measure for 20 more years during 2020 elections. The SMART transit agency staffing is recommending a tax measure initiative during 2020 presidential elections. They are hoping to help with transit revenues to balance the budget including a strategic plan for transit improvement projects.

The annual Bike To Work Day in San Francisco Bay Area is happening on Thursday, May 9, 2019 for bicyclist commuters. The Bay Area bicycle event will be the 25th Annual Bike To Work Day with celebration events thereafter biking to work activities. Including lead sponsorship by Alaska Airlines and other companies to make it happen, and Alaska Airlines will give away 5,000 miles of airlines mileage plan. The bicycle riders will have various energizer stops within the Bay Area's nine regional counties.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is taking precautions thereafter bus drivers were infected with scabies. It's confirmed 4 VTA bus drivers are infected with therein skin irritation scabies thereafter reports by infected bus drivers. There are 12 VTA buses put out of services for protection and health prevention for bus drivers and passengers. Those VTA transit buses are cleaned more for extra protection with healthy precautions and services will continue without problems.

The TJPA (Transbay Joint Power Authority) agency has announced repairs for Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco since closure on September 2018. The hub transit center was closed down because of cracked beams and TJPA worked closely with the PRP (Peer Review Panel) for a reviewing report with a fixture plan. The independent PRP reviewing report issued therein possible cause for the fractured beams along with a recommended repair plan. The steel plates to reinforce the fractured beams are being constructed offsite and will be delivered to therein transit center for installation.

The Caltrain station stops between Bayshore and San Francisco will be closed Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, 2019 for tunnel construction this month. The identified weekend closure with other weekend closures will be in place because of the Caltrain electrification project. There will be free bus services between Bayshore station and San Francisco train stop stations during weekend closures. The Caltrain agency will have ambassadors at therein stations to assist passengers when necessary.
