The SMART (Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit) agency is celebrating the surpassing mark of cyclist riders on transit trains during this month of March 2019 in North Bay. The SMART transit agency operates trains in San Francisco Bay Area as the newest operational system. The SMART trains opened for services in 2017 and tracking more than 100,000 bicyclist riders on therein transporting trains - cyclist riders will get free train passes. It recently held a celebration event for transporting 1 million passengers thereafter operating for 1 year.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit agency is launching a campaign to honor Rosa Parks - Mother of the Freedom Movement on muni buses! It's a celebration to honor Rosa Parks for her courageous effort for transit equity during the civil rights movement 1955. Including equality with civil rights on transportation for all passengers nationwide and recognizing her during this month of March 2019. The SFMTA and local legislators are working closely to honor her on muni buses with signs and history for Rosa Parks - support at #RideforRosa campaign.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) held a groundbreaking event for Mathilda Avenue Improvements Project transformation on Highway 101. The South Bay improvement project will cost $42 million with collaborative partnership funds from local and state funding allocation. The VTA transit agency is working closely with local municipal partnership agencies and Caltrans to move therein project forward. The improvement project will widen Mathilda Avenue going both directions with three lanes each way to make it easier for drivers.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) has completed its final electric bus order with 536 renewable muni buses to transform its fleet. The SFMTA new electric buses will be traveling across the nation from Minnesota to San Francisco during next couple of weeks. It's an investment approach for SFMTA to renew its fleet with environmental clean air vehicles for local transportation. It will transform local transportation with reliable vehicles for efficient and dependable services - it's a milestone effort protecting our environment!

Today is Transit Drivers Appreciation Day on Monday, March 18, 2019 within San Francisco Bay Area for passengers and/or communities to appreciate transporting services bus drivers perform everyday. The daily performance by bus drivers everyday to transport passengers within locations can be challenging sometimes - bus drivers knows how to handle it. Including traffic congestion and having appropriate skills to handle tough challenges on the road along with safety situations when necessary.

The SamTrans transit agency is partnering with SMCOE (San Mateo County Office of Education) to promote educational arts on transit buses. The 15th Annual "Art Takes a Bus Ride" contest is in place throughout San Mateo County until Friday, April 5, 2019. The arts contest theme this year is "The Power Of SamTrans" and therein contest is open from first to twelfth grade students - one contestant will be selected from each grade. The winner will have his/her artistic display as a wrap around SamTrans transit bus for the whole year, and inside the bus on a marketing ad cardboard.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is releasing the draft EIR (Environmental Impact Report) for the muni improvement project on Market Street. The project is called Better Market Street Project to hopefully improve traffic congestion and confusion on Market Street in San Francisco. It's an important action by SFMTA administration to be consistent with CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) state requirements. The draft EIR report will provide an objective analysis for decision makers on how to approach therein improvement project accordingly.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is launching Phase-III of the Silicon Valley Express Lanes project for transit improvement in the Bay Area. The VTA agency in collaboration with Caltrans will kick-off Phase-III of therein improvement project on Friday, March 8, 2019. The project groundbreaking will celebrate a milestone and introducing 550 miles express lanes extension from Santa Clara County to San Mateo County. The VTA Silicon Valley Express Lanes project will certainly help with traffic congestion in San Francisco Bay Area.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) trains will get $12.6 million for improvement projects in North Bay within San Francisco Bay Area. The SMART transit agency will receive therein funding grant from MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) for bicycle and pedestrian pathway project. The pathway improvement project will be aligned with local cities in North Bay for pedestrians and bicyclist safety. The pathway project will be along 4.7 miles connection with current pathways for safety reasoning.

The appealing legal challenge against VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) has been refused by legal courts and allowing therein release of initiative funding. The VTA administration announced that Measure B funding is ready for spending on critical transportation projects in South Bay. The VTA transit agency issued initiative funding checks for local cities and Santa Clara County for transit improvement projects. The record shows VTA has collected approximately $360 million for therein measure approval.
