The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is launching the car-free project on Market Street starting Wednesday, January 29, 2020. The car-free project will prohibit personal cars driving eastbound on Market Street between 10th and Main streets. Including personal cars driving westbound between Steuart Street and Van Ness Avenue, and cars can still cross Market Street. The working crews are preparing to install all appropriate street signs in place by therein date for awareness.

The CDC (Centers for Decease Control) and prevention health agency is screening passengers arriving at SFO (San Francisco International Airport) from Wuhan, China. To prevent any health issues aligned with the coronavirus because it's creating health problems for passengers returning from China. The SFO airport screening process for arriving passengers will happen inside the customs facility. The CDC issued a health alert for airport passengers and more than 2,000 people nationwide have been screened for therein coronavirus.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) agency released a study report showing North Bay trains can reduce 33% of greenhouse gas emissions. The SMART trains are equipped with modern efficient clean-diesel engines consistent with environmental protection standards. The passengers riding therein North Bay SMART trains will certainly help protect our local environment - compared to driving personal cars. The study report also shows 50% of passengers riding SMART trains use other types of public transportation.

The NFC Championship game is between 49ers and Packers at Levi's Stadium in the Bay Area. The free Celebration Train by Caltrain transit agency will operate on modified schedules during MLK holiday celebration on Monday, January 20, 2020. The passengers riding therein train for free will leave San Jose at 9:35 AM going to San Francisco for Dr. King celebration events. The passengers will have to register ahead of time to get a free complimentary ticket to ride Caltrain for the celebration event. The train will make stops along the way to San Francisco for therein annual celebration. The annual celebration event is hosted by Northern California Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit agency is kicking off the Muni Art Program on Thursday, January 9, 2020. It's an artistic program for children to exhibit their talents and muni transit buses will showcase therein winning arts gallery. The muni mobile arts gallery will be moving around the city thereafter winners of the program have been announced. The SFMTA arts program will be in partnership with San Francisco Beautiful to help local artists showcase their talents.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency announced their fare increase is effective January 1, 2020 to provide more efficient services for passengers. The BART fare increase is identified based on inflation and to keep up with essential service needs. The BART capital investment for transit services improvement can be very challenging and fare increase will certainly help. The BART Board of Directors approved the inflation-based fare increase program to generate capital funding for transit improvement needs.

The transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area is teaming up to provide FREE rides for passengers during New Year's Eve celebrations! The East Bay is getting free rides from AC transit (Alameda Contra Costa Transit District) agency, West Bay is getting free rides from SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency), Caltrain, and SamTrans (San Mateo County Transit District). The South Bay is getting free rides from VTA transit (Valley Transportation Authority) agency to bring in New Year 2020, with festive celebration events within San Francisco Bay Area.
