The GGBHT (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation) District is partnering with SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) agency for transit services in North Bay. The partnership agencies will make it easier for passengers traveling in North Bay and Larkspur ferry station. The transit partners have launch a Sail & Rail project with new adjusted transit schedules to make connections better for passengers. The riders on SMART trains will get off and get into the local transit buses without waiting long times.

The transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area are continually monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) to protect commuting passengers. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency has reduced ridership by 45% because commercial airports and many businesses are without services in the Bay Area. Including cancellation of major local events, concerts, home games, etc. because of the COVID-19 health matter. The public and private schools are closed and BART is continually operating because there are people still traveling within the Bay Area.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is reporting the drop with crime rates during the first two months of 2020 comparing to last year. The BART data shows 7% decrease with overall crime rates and violent crimes have dropped 16% consistently within two months. The report shows 5% decrease with property crime rates with hopes the same decreasing crime rates will remain dropping. The BART crime rates decrease as reported is because the Police Chief Ed Alvarez has launched a new patrol team during January 2020.

The GGBHT (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation) District has suspended local ferry services for the Chase Center in San Francisco. Because of cancelled events at the Chase Center arena including home games for NBA (National Basketball Association) Champions Golden State Warriors. The GGBHT District will suspend ferry services until Friday, April 10, 2020 for reassessment and will closely monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. The City and County of San Francisco has banned all local events with 1,000+ people citywide.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) Central Subway is progressively coming along and construction should finish during summertime. The SFMTA Central Subway construction crews have been working during 2019 with challenges of local street closures. Including local business concerns with limited access for customers especially restaurants in Chinatown. The next steps will be testing and ensuring subway trains are safely prepared to transport passengers in San Francisco.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has created SFO (San Francisco International Airport) international flights to reduce by 30% in the Bay Area. The SFO airport airlines are hurting with very limited air travelers without many flights arriving and/or departing from the airport. Including limited restaurant business services in SFO International Terminal because of limited flights. The airport restaurants are hurting and feeling the financial pain because people are not traveling by airplanes.

The Grand Princess cruise ship is finally cleared to dock at the Oakland Port in San Francisco Bay Area, thereafter confined passengers on therein ship for more than four days. People on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge were cheering passengers on the cruise ship as they were gliding underneath the bridge. The passengers were happy to finally have an opportunity to get off therein cruise ship and meet with families. The drivers going nearby therein Oakland Port were honking their horns to welcome Grand Princess passengers in Oakland.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating anxiety and fearful for some people in San Francisco Bay Area, and Elite Limousine Inc. is stepping up their protection approach for shuttling passengers. The transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area are hoping to have employees trained with elements of AB2034 (Assembly Bill 2034) to prevent human trafficking. Because therein state legislative law requires training on or before January 1, 2021 for compliance. Some of Bay Area transit agencies are aware and provided necessary training for employees including partnership efforts to prevent human trafficking and/or sexual harassment and abuse. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is partnering with local girls organization to help therein matter.

The Grand Princess cruise ship has been floating along the California coast outside the iconic Golden Gate Bridge since Thursday in San Francisco. The cruise ship has been floating in the Pacific Ocean and coronavirus (COVID-19) testing kits have been delivered by California National Guards Unit. The COVID-19 testing samples will be delivered to California Department of Public Health for review with lab testing results. Including review information from CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and Prevention for COVID-19.
