The SFMTA muni services with 47 Van Ness in The City will be discontinued effective Saturday, April 4, 2020 until further notice. The muni services adjustment with 49 Van Ness for weekends only will be extended as alternate transporting services. The SFMTA administration is encouraging passengers to enter the bus using backdoor boarding process to avoid COVID-19 transmitting contact. The SFMTA staffing will continue to monitor therein COVID-19 situation and prioritizing services for essential needs.

The GGBHTD (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District) continues to adjust services because of low ridership created by therein COVID-19 health emergency. The ferry services to Larkspur, Tiburon, and Sausalito will only be on weekdays without weekend services effective Monday, April 6, 2020. The ferry services to Chase Center and Oracle Park continues to be suspended in the Bay Area until further notice. The GGBHTD administration will continue to monitor therein COVID-19 situation and may have additional adjustments for transit and ferry services.

The transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area have been operating with administrative public meetings via mobile and/or public meeting cancellation. Because of the COVID-19 prevention approach and compliance with Shelter In Place orders to avoid transmitting contact. The transit agencies in the Bay Area have been monitoring therein COVID-19 situational status for updates consistent with local, state, and federal public health advisory. The transit agencies have been maintaining social distancing to protect commuting passengers as necessary.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) ferry services in San Francisco Bay Area continues reduction services because of low ridership. The WETA ferry services reached lower ridership at 96% on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and advocating for financial revenues. The COVID-19 virus disease impact in the Bay Area is affecting transit agencies along with WETA ferry services. The WETA operates 60% of their budget from passengers paying fees to ride ferry service vessels across the Bay Area.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is going the extra mile to continually clean train stations everyday to protect passengers from therein COVID-19 virus disease. The BART agency is using this current low ridership time to upgrade capital improvement projects within the system. Including electrical and installation upgrades, escalators are being repaired with upgrading elements, bathroom walls are replaced with new materials, etc.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is working closely with another muni driver/operator who tested positive for COVID-19. The SFMTA is providing guidance assistance for therein second muni driver as impacted by the COVID-19 transmitting contact when reported. The second impacted driver was operating a muni bus out of the Presidio Yard and SFMTA personnel is cleaning it thoroughly for protection. The SFMTA is reviewing therein driver's routing activities for determination of COVID-19 transmitting contact.

The Caltrain in San Francisco Bay Area is sharing new weekday service changes because of the low ridership, and avoiding the spread of COVID-19 disease. The Caltrain new changes will be in effect today on Monday, March 30, 2020 and trains will use normal platforms. The new weekday schedules are posted to identify new services adjustment for passengers and awareness for planning during therein COVID-19 health crisis challenges. The Caltrain administration will continue to clean and disinfect the transporting trains to remain safe and healthy for passengers.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit agency implements new muni services changes effective today on Monday, March 30, 2020. The SFMTA administration have to make necessary service changes to protect drivers/operators and passengers from COVID-19 disease. The SFMTA light railway system will be closed for services and underground subway stations will be closed except downtown. The passengers can ride muni buses as alternate transportation to replace closing railway services.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency is working on Capital Projects during low ridership time for passengers in the Bay Area. These types of projects are not paid by BART operational budget funding and it's paid by BART Capital Projects funding. The BART repair crews are using therein COVID-19 negative impact and turning it to positive by making improvement projects. Because of therein COVID-19 health crisis creating low ridership, BART is using this low ridership time for capital improvement projects.

The ACE (Altamont Corridor Express) train has suspended Saturday transit services because of ridership reduction during the COVID-19 health crisis. The ACE train services ridership reduction is approximately 85% and reducing train sizes for transit services in the Bay Area. It's also suspending some service trains carrying less than 40 passengers because of therein low ridership. The ACE trains will operate regular hours for passengers and closing some in-person ticketing office until further notice.
