The San Francisco muni system is undergoing many different projects within the city, and all muni projects are catered for services improvement in San Francisco for commuters. The San Francisco MTA (Municipal Transportation Agency) Board approved $3.5 million to build railway tracks for muni railway system within Mission Bay. This project will provide muni railway system a turnaround phase for T-Third line at Mission Bay going southbound, and it will not affect services for Bayview Hunters Point geographical area.

The contract was awarded to a Sacramento company that would provide newly designed muni railway system cars, and it should be in operation during 2016.

The Governor of California signed into law AB2293 legislating insurance for TNC cars (Uber, Lyft, etc.) to have appropriate insurance coverage for passengers, and this will provide appropriate insurance to protect passengers while traveling in Uber and Lyft cars. Taxi drivers have been complaining about this issue and happy about this new law taking effect during next summer, and this will provide an equal playing field with appropriate insurance standards protecting passengers.

The new laws protecting people riding bicycles in California takes affect yesterday hoping to avoid any future accidents, and providing buffering safety zone for both drivers and bicyclists on the road. The state legislature approved the new law and signed by the governor with new changes to reflect protection on both sides, and educating drivers for protection of people riding bikes. The accidents involving bicycles in California surpassed 150 during 2012 and 7% more from previous years, and no determination for increased casualties.

The Bay Area Bike Share Program has been providing alternative ways and means of support for commuters, using public transportation including bicycles for transportation especially working class people. Including an effort to save the air and our natural environment, unfortunately, the hardware and software agency providing assistance with technological support has filed bankruptcy. This puts the program to an unrealistic infrastructure and distancing performance support.

Traffic congestion in San Francisco is getting worse during commuting hours, the latest reports indicate, it's the second worse traffic congestion nationwide in major cities and Los Angeles is number one. San Francisco residents are looking for resolutions from the city administration, and exactly why "Don't Block The Box" program is coming back to San Francisco after 22 years. San Francisco MTA (Municipal Transportation Agency) recently completed a study and regenerating this program for mostly affected intersection streets.

The California Department of Transportation has been trying to repair state roadways and freeways, making it safer for commuters and ensuring healthy issues, considering traffic fuel emission levels for cars traveling on state freeways. The latest report by Washington research group and advocacy indicates the annual repair cost for freeways and roadways will be $44 billion, and this will be additional to the state budget amount for transportation every year.

The BART system has been getting crowded with more passengers and needs maintenance repairs including fixtures on cars train wheels, and lately it shows how the transportation system needs improvement in certain areas. During August 27, 2014 the BART system was broken down within Middle Transbay, and September 9, 2014 a person was hit and struck by a train car at BART Bay Fair station. Some BART train cars lost wheels while in operation endangering passengers during their traveling trip, and BART administration is looking into taking care of defective wheels ensuring passengers safety.

Traveling within San Francisco Bay Area is essentially critical for people during daily activities, and transportation can be dangerous for our healthy environment and leading into unhealthy medical issues for people.
