The Caltrain disruptive horn sound is becoming unhealthy for Palo Alto residents in San Francisco Bay Area, and highly requesting a quiet zone as trains are going through the city jurisdiction. A greater number of city residents attended the council meeting on Monday, and requested city council members to take appropriate actions against train horn loud sound. The city attorney's office recommends the Caltrain horn sound is protected under federal regulations for safety measures, and quiet zones may open up for city lawsuits because it may endanger pedestrians and drivers.

A lawsuit has been filed against Caltrain by Town of Atherton regarding a plan to electrify the train system, and endangering environmental trees with dangerous configurations at the community train station. Caltrain claims the trains will be faster and efficient for passengers, and helping people increase ridership and reduction of air pollution. The town representing attorney filed the lawsuit alleging the Caltrain electrification system will allow trains to go faster and pedestrians will be in danger.

The upgrading repairs for highways and roadways within the State of California and San Francisco Bay Area is needed, and state repair funding is decreasing quickly than anticipated and seeking for new revenues. The reports indicate funding from gasoline taxes for repairing state roadways have been lowering, and California legislators are searching for revenues to help with highways and roadways repair. Including a way to change the state transportation system and/or possibility of drivers to pay taxes for the amount of miles they travel on the road.

The latest stormy weather making freeways and roadways hard for drivers, and causing delays and cancellation on flights within San Francisco Bay Area transportation elements for traveling. The CHP (California Highway Patrol) reported highway 101 in the Peninsula northern part of Marsh Road was flooded yesterday creating traffic backups and some cars with mechanical problems. The gusty strong winds causing a tree to fall onto highway 35 north on highway 92 creating traffic stops for about an hour before reopening for full operational access for cars.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) findings are showing less commuters are depending on transit buses and San Francisco muni system to travel within bay area locations. Although, MTC reports showing increase ridership in BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and Caltrain for the past few years, it also shows commuters not depending on riding muni and other transit buses - a mixed message.

The San Francisco Bay Area traffic issues of concern is endangering people's living environment, and railway development for the high-speed train is endangering kit fox species in San Joaquin County. Reports indicate railway contractors failed to protect kit fox species during the planning process, and also failed to comply with environmental impact and commitment. The California High-Speed Rail Authority officials along with Federal Railway Administration didn't comply with the agreement elements, including protection of families and children with environmental kit fox species.

The Vision Zero approach of avoiding future pedestrian fatalities and saving people in San Francisco, comes with a method of reducing speed for cars on city streets and building a safety net for pedestrians. Transportation issues of concern in California metropolitan areas needs a lot of attention for repair, and capturing President Obama's budget proposals for $1 billion earmarked for California transportation. Including San Francisco Bay Area freeways and roadways construction projects, and improvement for traffic congested areas as well as $165 million for BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services improvement to San Jose. Traffic congestion is not only the west side anymore because it affects commuting for everyone, and impacting commuting time for working class people.

The teen suicide issues in Palo Alto has been alarmingly raising questions for people, and city hired security guards to hopefully prevent people from crossing Caltrain tracks and kill themselves as suicidal attempt. The latest teen was killed when crossing Charleston Road and parents with teens participated in recent community meetings sharing some possible solutions. A major number of teen students from Gunn High School in Palo Alto participated, and shared their feelings about these suicidal issues and looking for help to save their friends.

The working people with families and children are having tough times commuting with traffic issues to deal with everyday, and especially working class people throughout San Francisco Bay Area with challenging traffic. The latest aggregated surveys data indicates San Francisco Bay Area as the roughest commuting traffic in a metropolitan area, and Philadelphia and Houston came in second and third throughout the nation. Commuting time within San Francisco Bay Area is taking longer and longer every year, and some people are willing to adapt changes.
