DECLINING AC TRANSIT RIDERSHIP IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA
The growing population and economy in San Francisco Bay Area is raising concerns with transportation needs. Public bus transportation is part of the puzzle and latest report indicates declining ridership with AC Transit. It reports 15% decline during 1991 to 2014 based on MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) reporting data. MTC and other regional transit agencies are encouraging people to ride public transit buses with many other amenities. Including saving our natural environment and helping local traffic congestion in San Francisco Bay Area.
