The local business merchants in San Francisco is getting $1.45 million funding assistance because of the Central Subway delays. The construction of San Francisco Central Subway going into Chinatown is delayed and impacting local businesses, and San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee, is offering $1.45 million to local merchants for assistance. The funding assistance will be based on the level of impact for merchants and local businesses will have access to funding range up to $10,000 for assistance.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) transportation agency has been serving San Francisco Bay Area in 45 years of dedicated services today on Monday. The BART agency started transporting passengers 45 years ago with unique car designs and now creating challenges for people. There was 19 miles of tracks without a buypass lane and creating delays for passengers, and BART keeps upgrading therein system as necessary. The BART escalators and elevators were built by a German company that is out of business, and repairs have to be customized accordingly to make it work.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) has cancelled flights to and from Florida because of Hurricane Irma starting this Friday morning. The meteorologists are estimating Hurricane Irma is a strong storm with recorded impacts along its pathway in the Atlantic Ocean. The stormy hurricane is expected to hit inland Florida over this weekend and people should be prepared including airline travelers. The SFO flight cancellation approach is a safety measure ensuring people are not flying to and from Florida during stormy weather conditions.

The new parking garage construction for Walnut Creek BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station is planning to begin Saturday, September 9, 2017 as part of the Walnut Creek Transit Village improvement project. The new parking improvement project is built next to the southern parking lot area to increase overall public parking. Including upgraded bus facilities with new passenger pickup/dropoff locations, improved bike and pedestrian pathways, and new BART police station.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is celebrating 100 years of services "Muni Heritage Weekend" this coming weekend in San Francisco. The SFMTA staffing and San Francisco Railway Museum will share legendary muni vehicles along with vintage muni vehicles on Saturday, September 9, 2017 and Sunday, September 10, 2017. The Muni Heritage Weekend begins at 10 AM to 5 PM to celebrate various centennial bus lines and legendary railway trains.

The City of Palo Alto council members are now supporting a state legislation to increase taxes for assistance of the Caltrain transit improvement projects. The SB797 (Senate Bill 797) state legislation was revisited by council members thereafter uncertain elements about governance and funding allocation. The Bloomberg reports an unidentified source mentioned 17 former Apple engineers joined Zoox Inc. in Menlo Park, California. The Zoox Inc. self-driving car engineers specializing in how to design traditional and autonomous vehicles regrading braking and suspension systematic elements. The engineers were reportedly sidelined when Apple Inc. started to downsize their autonomous vehicle development project. The Apple iconic iPhone system has made its mark in the market and self-driving vehicles along with autonomous operating systems can be challenging. The Zoox Inc.

The increasing car break-ins within San Francisco citywide and auto burglaries increase 28% is getting SFPD (San Francisco Police Department) officers attention. The SFPD issued a report this week identifying 17,970 car break-ins and 13,995 at this time during last year. The North Beach and Mission District area is capturing more attention because of higher car break-in crimes within neighborhoods. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Norman Yee, District-7, introduced "Safe Neighborhoods Ordinance" and unfortunately Mayor Ed Lee vetoed it.
