The public Flood Park in City of Menlo Park is having plans to renovate with new playing fields, and local residents are raising concerns about more traffic congestion. A draft EIR (Environmental Impact Report) was issued by county parks and recreation department for the public park along 215 Bay Road in Menlo Park. The local park development will be in phases including preservation for canopy trees, increasing sports field and repairs, as well as updating parking features.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) board is considering to offer citations for people not paying their fees to ride BART trains. The BART administration is cracking down on people cheating the payment system to ride the train for free, including people physically going through BART gates without paying. The BART officials are looking at improving the payment system and/or ways to prevent people from going through entrance gates without paying. Some of local BART stations have higher wall devices to prevent people going through entrance gates without paying.

The San Francisco BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) improvement project along Van Ness Avenue is causing delays and impacting timely services for passengers. The BRT project construction contractors filed two claims amounting $15 million because of therein delays for the project. Some of local legislators are not happy with BRT project delays and unaware of the project delay situation for possible resolution. The local San Francisco residents are unhappy as well and seeking answers because it makes it tougher for local residents.

The Google self-driving car project Waymo launched a self-driving education for autonomous cars in Arizona last week. The educational session is called "Let's Talk Self-Driving" to provide people with information about trending autonomous self-driving cars. It's an awareness approach to share how technology is helping to address some of safety challenges on roads today. Including drunk driving people, roadway aggressive behaviors leading into deaths, and traffic congestion within San Francisco Bay Area.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is considering more safety improvement projects for local pedestrian safety. During the past month, a 90 year old senior was going on his daily activities and was struck and killed by a car on Fell and Baker crosswalk streets. Some local residents are saying, "what happened to The Vision Zero initiative because that's suppose to become a prevention approach." The local reports identify seniors to become 5 times more likely to die during a traffic collision than other demographic populations.

The Aeromexico Airlines launches new direct flights to SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport) between Mexico City and San Jose, California. The airlines announcement identifies service will begin next year during Summertime season and therein routing represents third nonstop to Mexico. The Aeromexico flight services to SJC shows its sixth nonstop destinations to California. The other California nonstop for Aeromexico is in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, and Ontario.

The state DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) shared new revised regulated policies for self-driving cars in San Francisco Bay Area and statewide. The new revised DMV regulations would allow autonomous vehicles to operate on state roadways as long as applicable with federal safety standards. The procedural process have to provide a public commentary period through Wednesday, October 25, 2017 along with approval for autonomous vehicles. The self-driving cars can be allowed for operation as soon as possible sometime next year in 2018.

The USPS (U.S. Postal Service) announced having semiautonomous trucks for mail delivery within seven years to help with operational costing impact. The USPS is hoping to automate its delivery system by adding self-driving autonomous trucks to its fleet by 2025 nationwide. The USPS is partnering with University of Michigan to build autonomous delivery vehicles and launching a pilot approach on rural routes nationwide. The USPS postal autonomous vehicular trucks will provide postal workers more time for other responsible tasks during the delivery route.

The bridge tolls within San Francisco Bay Area will increase $3 when voters approve therein ballot measure in upcoming elections in 2018. Because the State of California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law SB595 (Senate Bill 595) for the process, to transparently give people an opportunity to share how they feel about raising toll fees. However, the Golden Gate Bridge toll fees will not be affected because it's a different procedural process. The voters within 9 Bay Area counties will decide if bridge tolls should increase $3 or not.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) board is considering to approve changes for local parking permits within The City. The SFMTA staffing will make a presentation to board members for therein approval process of the RPP (Residential Parking Permit) program. The RPP program changes will take effect during July 2019 when everything is approved accordingly by SFMTA board. It appears that more than 15 parking permits are offered to seven local schools and those parking permits have to become renewed.
