The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) is extending therein BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Extension Project time to further analyze the tunnel design before final approval. The VTA needs more assessment time to further review therein single-bore tunnel configuration for positive results. Because VTA owns and responsible for the BART Extension Project in Silicon Valley with the safest and efficient operating transit system.

The federal Senator Feinstein is calling for a new San Francisco Bay Area bridge to help with vehicular traffic congestion. An advocacy letter was sent to MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) by Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congressman Mark DeSaulnier for MTC to take expeditious action on the new bridge proposal. The new bridge proposal can be funded by regional initiatives approved by local voters and therein letter identifies the way to alleviate traffic problems.

It was announced some airlines are banning "smart bags" for air travelers unless the battery is removable for safety reasoning. A traveling smart bag includes electronic devices and smartphone chargers powered by lithium batteries, and may be unsafe for air travelers and airlines. The American, Delta, and Alaska airlines shared smart bags for passengers will no longer be allowed for check-in because lithium batteries may explode onboard. The airlines may allow passengers to bring their smart bag as a carry-on as long as lithium batteries are removed.

The San Francisco Bay Area holiday seasonal spirit is definitely happening and VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) is having their "Stuff The VTA Bus" event on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 9 AM to 5 PM. The VTA transit agency serves Santa Clara County in the Bay Area and will have a holiday transit bus decorated to be filled with toys. It's part of the U.S. Marines holiday Toys-For-Tots toy drive in the Bay Area, and the bus will be parked in downtown San Jose on Market Street.

The vehicular traffic congestion in San Francisco Bay Area is making local residents upset and increasing traffic fatalities is making it worse for the people. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) data reports Bay Area traffic fatalities on roadways have increased every year since 2010. The MTC data indicates 455 people were killed during last year in 2016 and 318 roadway fatalities during 2010. The MTC administration reports therein number of fatalities are growing faster than traveling vehicle miles as well as growing populations.

The state Caltrans transportation agency is mourning their lost of a friendly coworker because of a vehicle crashed into the Bay Area toll booths over the weekend. The fatal crash damaged four toll booths of San Francisco Bay Bridge and three have been reopened for services thereafter repairs. The vehicle accident killed one of Caltrans toll taker, Si Si Han, and coworkers are feeling the pain of their loss.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is planning to ban personal cars on Market Street in The City for pedestrians and transit safety elements. The SFMTA staffing will start outreaching to local communities and businesses regarding therein plan for safety reasoning. The business loading zones will become limited on Market Street and may use other alternative locations. It seems other business merchants have been using side streets for trucks to unload and may work permanently.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) will have concrete islands on Taraval Street when approved by Board of Directors. The SFMTA implemented a pilot project for therein street and it appears the project didn't work to fully protect local pedestrians. The SFMTA activated therein pilot project during early part of this year including visual street safety signs warning cars, to caution and/or to stop for pedestrians when boarding the railway train.

The AC transit services agency is having their free-ride Holiday Bus throughout the month of December 2017 to kickoff the holiday season. The theme for this year is "Warm Holiday Wishes" for passengers along with seasonal decorations and holiday colors. The Holiday Bus will appear at various service area locations and passengers can get onboard for a free ride including a 2018 yearly calendar. The Holiday Bus will operate throughout December and gifting calendar includes pictures of Warriors Championship victorious parade in Oakland.

The San Francisco Bay Area transit agencies are kicking off this holiday season during the weekend with local fun activities for families and children. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is having a Holiday Block Party at Dogpatch neighborhood on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10 AM - 6 PM including Caltrain Holiday Train toys drive for children. Including San Francisco Veterans Film Festival at Civic Center/Main Public Library with various times and muni buses/trains will provide transportation.
