BART THEFTS INCREASE WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) reports showing increase with electronic devices thefts during 2017 last year - 52% increase. The items for thieves to steal is mobile phones and other electronic devices, and involving forceful behaviors considered to become violent crimes. The BART agency is reportedly using multiple surveillance cameras with high-quality results to identify thieves. Although, BART's increase with thefts of passengers electronic devices, BART auto theft is decreased by 13% and bike thefts decreased by 18%. The BART agency has increased their policing efforts and looking forward to hire more police officers to handle these types of unfortunate situation. To ensure passengers are safe onboard trains and surrounding areas at BART stations during commute hours.
