The Golden State Warriors new stadium in San Francisco will have muni train stop platforms and will double to accommodate sporting fans when the Chase Center opens in 2019. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is hoping to rebuild and redesign the arena muni platforms for train stops accommodating more railway trains. The project cost has elevated to $33 million which is $6 million more than anticipated - contracting costs were estimated at $27 million.

The California DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) issued the first autonomous shuttle vehicle operational license plate to EasyMile company driverless shuttles. The autonomous vehicles license plate allows it to operate on California public roads and it happened this morning in San Ramon, California. Therein driverless vehicle with no driver, no steering wheel, no brake pedals, and no accelerator was operating at Bishop Ranch business park. It's goal is having the EasyMile shuttles help with connecting passengers to local transportation locations.

An unruly passenger on a flight from SFO (San Francisco International Airport) to Boise Airport during the flight this Monday morning. The unruly passenger on Skywest Airlines was restrained by other passengers when she tried to open the cabin door on the airplane. The Skywest flight 5449 landed safely at Boise Airport without injuries and police officers arrested therein unruly passenger at the gate upon flight arrival. The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and Boise Police Department is investigating therein flight incident and medically evaluate the passenger.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is getting ready to finish the pre-construction phase of Twin Peaks Tunnel Improvement Project. The tunnel construction team will work on weekends for preparatory work and some stations will be closed earlier as necessary. The weekend early closures will begin late Friday, March 16, 2018 to Sunday, March 18, 2018 for the continuing 14 weekends to complete work inside Twin Peaks Tunnel. It will impact Forest Hill and West Portal stations and Castro Station will remain open for trains including a terminal for bus shuttles.

The SamTrans transit bus services in San Mateo County is promoting their annual "Art Takes A Bus Ride" contest partnering with San Mateo County Office of Education. It's the 14th year for therein artistic contest for local students and inviting all local school grades 1-6 countywide to participate. The art contest theme this year is "The Wild Side Of SamTrans" and San Mateo County students have to submit their artistic work for the competition. The winning artistic entry will be displayed around the outside of SamTrans bus for the whole year.

The San Francisco Bay Area WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) is possibly looking to explore smaller vessel ferry services in the Bay Area. The WETA Board of Directors will decide today on Thursday, May 1, 2018 if the exploratory project of small vessels should go forward or not. The Caltrain joint powers Board of Directors is considering to approve the new contracting agency to install safety systematic mechanisms for transit trains. The Wabtec Railway Electronics Inc. is a new contractor agency for Caltrain to install PTC (Positive Train Control) systems for safety improvement to protect passengers. Because U.S. Congress approved the Rail Safety Improvement Act legislation and requires PTC system installation for transit trains nationwide.
