The road closures in San Francisco and some Bay Area cities maybe allowing more people to ride their bikes locally without cars on therein road closures. The bicycle shops are trying to keep up with local needs for more bicycles because customers are lining up to buy. Some local bicycle shops have no problems with the high demand during the COVID-19 health pandemic.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and BAAQM (Bay Area Air Quality Management) District is partnering for a youth contest in San Francisco Bay Area. The contest is engaging students between 13 and 19 years of age regarding climate change and environmental protection alignment with transportation in the Bay Area. The youth contest students must turn in their storytelling projects by Monday, May 18, 2020 to be eligible and receive contest prices.

The JetBlue Airlines have a new policy for air traveling passengers to protect them from therein COVID-19 virus. The JetBlue Airlines would be the first to implement such a protective policy during last month for passengers to wear face coverings. The new policy for air travelers will become officially effective on Monday, May 4, 2020 as a requirement for flight passengers. Because some domestic flights are 85% to 100% full with air traveling passengers on some airlines domestic flights.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train hits a man at Bay Fair station on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 during morning hours around 9:50 AM. An ambulance was contacted to transport the person to a hospital and authorities did not identify him immediately. The man was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital for his injuries thereafter being hit by the BART train. It's reported BART Police Officers closed the Bay Fair station for the scenery investigation and reopened for regular services.

The Tesla company is rolling out a new feature for electric cars automated driving system to electronically recognize stop signs and traffic signals when necessary. The Tesla data reports therein electric cars new feature can be used with Traffic Aware Cruise Control and/or Autosteer Systems. Because the new cruise control feature can recognize stop signs and stop traffic lights, and slows the electric car with the driver's awareness. The Tesla drivers must also be aware of therein recognition signal and take immediate appropriate action as necessary.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) announced therein opening of Harvey Milk Terminal 1 and adjusting some airline carriers for air travelers. The SFO Airport is still open for essential air travelers and highly requesting passengers to uphold local, state, and federal public health advisory. Including face coverings and social distancing as required to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus. The SFO Airport administration requires all airport visitors and/or traveling passengers to ware face coverings for therein virus prevention.

The SamTrans transit agency is adjusting services in West Bay to accommodate passengers as necessary because of COVID-19 health pandemic in San Francisco Bay Area. Including modified schedules for 31 routing lines to preserve essential services regarding low ridership levels created by COVID-19 health crisis. The flexible (FLX Pacifica) services route will be in place effective Monday, May 4, 2020 to serve Linda Mar communities in Pacifica. The SamTrans OnDemand operations will no longer provide services for passengers effective Friday, May 1, 2020 and replaced by FLX Pacifica services.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) agency is making necessary adjustments for services aligned with therein COVID-19 pandemic in East Bay. The AC transit agency has temporarily discontinued some bus stops, and permanently discontinued other bus stops. Including the closure of other local service bus lines within the transit transporting system. The ACT (AC Transit) real time system will be under maintenance upgrades on Monday, April 27, 2020 between 1 AM and 3 AM.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency customer services hours of operation will become normal on Monday, April 27, 2020 in South Bay. The VTA Call Center operational hours for customer services will be 6 AM to 7 PM on Monday to Friday during weekdays, and 7:30 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays.
