The CTC (California Transportation Commission) agency awards $407 million for Bay Area projects through MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission). The CTC finalized their statewide funding awards and MTC will manage therein Bay Area regional funds for local improvement projects. The CTC funding allocation is an alignment of three statewide programs: Solutions For Congested Corridors, Trade Corridor Enhancement, and Local Partnership.

The SCT (Sonoma County Transit) services agency in North Bay is changing transit schedules effective Sunday, December 13 and Monday, December 14, 2020. The SCT agency is revising schedules for Route 30 to include three new trips going eastbound and westbound. The transit bus will operate on daily schedules during weekly services on Sunday, December 13, 2020. The transit agency Route 32 schedule is revised to expand services on Saturdays, and local services will operate from Monday to Saturday starting Monday, December 14, 2020.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit serving West Bay may have possible service cutbacks created by therein budget deficit. The SFMTA transit agency is having financial hardship along with other transit agencies in San Francisco Bay Area. The COVID-19 pandemic caused many challenges for local business communities and transit agencies in the Bay Area, and Federal CARES Act can only cover for loss operational revenues.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) agency serving East Bay is launching their Holiday Bus for passengers to ride free. The AC Transit holiday tradition started in 1963 when they had the first legendary Holiday Bus, and many different holiday decorations during every year. The traditional 2020 Holiday Bus will be decorated with the holiday seasonal features and colors, and the theme this year is "Holidays Always Keep Their Sparkle." The AC Transit 2020 Holiday Bus will travel in different routes everyday and encouraging passengers to get onboard for a free ride!

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit services in South Bay is having a project virtual Open House on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 6 PM. The VTA partnership South Bay roadway project is with Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) and City of Cupertino. The partnership improvement project is funded by 2016 Measure B initiative funding approved by countywide voters to improve local transit and highway projects. The virtual Open House will share updates regarding therein design for Highway 280 and Wolfe Road Interchange Project.

The Marin Transit agency in North Bay joins other transit agencies for discount fares with Clipper START for countywide transit services. The transit agency's Clipper START card discount rates for commuting passengers will be aligned with the MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) pilot project. The Clipper START card project will provide eligible rates for low-income passengers traveling within the Bay Area, and therein card can be used for other transit services as well.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) ferry services in West Bay is suspending their $1 promotion effective today on Monday, November 30, 2020. Because the counties served by WETA ferry services moved into therein purple tier of COVID-19 tracking blueprint for California. The WETA agency is delaying the second month of therein $1 promotion and it will conserve resources when necessary. The unused $1 promotional tickets purchased through Hopthru will be fully refunded automatically within upcoming days.

The LAVTA (Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority) service agency in East Bay continues to operate on Service Level 3 in San Francisco Bay Area. The LAVTA transit agency was recognized by APTA (American Public Transportation Association) with an annual achievement award. The LAVTA transit services in East Bay was honored with an Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award, and will be recognized again during the APTA Transform Conference in March 2021 at Anaheim, California.

The SCMTD (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) services agency in South Bay is launching Winter Services schedule changes. The Santa Cruz METRO service changes will begin on Thursday, December 10, 2020 to Wednesday, March 3, 2021. The Highway 17 Express service will not operate at 5:55 AM, 7:10 AM, 9:45 AM, 11 AM, 3:39 PM, 5:15 PM, 7:35 PM, and 8:45 PM weekday trips between Santa Cruz Metro Center and San Jose Diridon. Including weekend trips at 7:40 AM, 8:45 AM, 4:22 PM, and 5:45 PM services will not operate during the winter season.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) train services agency in North Bay is having their annual Holiday Express Toy Drive on Saturday, December 5, 2020. The SMART transporting agency is partnering with community organizations in Marin and Sonoma counties to make it happen. The SMART Holiday Express Toy Drive is requesting new unwrapped toy donations for Bay Area families and children. Including non-perishable food items and can food donations to make some families and children happy during the holiday season - people can win a free ticket to ride SMART train!
