The WCCTA (Western Contra Costa Transit Authority) WestCAT transit agency in East Bay is resuming passenger fares effective Monday, February 1, 2021. The WestCAT agency will require all passengers to pay their riding fees everyday of transit services, and passengers have to get onboard the bus using front doors with correct fare amounts. Including paratransit services with dial-in commuting passengers and all local WestCAT transit service areas. The transit bus boarding from the rear doors will be suspended and all COVID-19 protective safety protocols will be in place accordingly.

The SJC (San Jose International Airport) commercial airport in South Bay is launching a disability assistance program in the Bay Area. The SJC Airport is introducing therein Sunflower Lanyard Program to help air travelers with hidden disabilities and consistent with California SCDD (State Council on Developmental Disabilities) supportive procedures. The SJC Airport supportive program will provide air travelers with additional assistance with hidden disabilities at the airport environment.

The BATA (Bay Area Toll Authority) agency will implement a new bridge tolls collection system effective during the beginning of 2021. It's launching an all-electronic toll collection system for drivers crossing Bay Area bridges, and driving customers using FasTrak and/or License Plate Account will be okay with no changes. Their bridge tolls collection statements will be okay with therein tracking system, and BATA is encouraging driving customers to enroll with FasTrak accounts.

The STS (Sonoma County Airport) regional commercial airport in North Bay launched an airport improvement project in the Bay Area. The STS Airport awarded several contracts for therein Terminal Improvement and Modernization Project, and Q&D Construction Aviation Group as the General Contractor. The airport improvement project funding will come from FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) with $23,836,175 and STS Airport will provide $7,510,712 additional funding for the identified project.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit services in West Bay is utilizing an Equity Toolkit to improve services. The SFMTA transit agency's New Equity Toolkit is developed from an analytic transit services data system within nine neighborhoods in San Francisco. To create a mapping display for muni transit service destinations and identifying service gaps within therein system for improvement.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) Transit agency in East Bay is operating buses on Christmas Day and New Years Day. The transit agency buses will operate all transbay and local lines with Sunday schedules, and wising everyone a Happy Holiday Season! The AC Transit buses will operate all lines on New Years Eve from 8 PM to 5 AM on Friday, January 1, 2021 with free rides. The transit agency Customer Services Office will be open Thursday, December 24, 2020 and Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 8 AM to 12 PM for customer assistance.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency in South Bay joins other Bay Area transit agencies advocating for COVID-19 vaccines. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and Prevention federal agency recently announced to include public transit workers for therein next phase of COVID-19 vaccines. The VTA transit agency and other Bay Area transit agencies will advocate for therein COVID-19 vaccines distribution, and/or implementation process to include all transit workers in San Francisco Bay Area for next round.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency in San Francisco Bay Area is upgrading their garage lighting systems for local stations. The Walnut Creek BART Station garage will partially close on Monday, January 11, 2021 for therein improvement project lighting systems upgrade. The BART agency garage will be closed for about six weeks to provide therein Walnut Creek BART Station with upgraded lighting systems. The BART contracting agency will replace lighting fixtures at the garage, and add lighting control systems for more energy efficiency and brighter for commuting passengers safety.

The SCT (Sonoma County Transit) services agency in North Bay is resuming passenger fares collection effective Monday, February 1, 2021. The SCT agency sales for monthly passes and Fast Passes will start during the month of January 2021, and transit Routes 24, 28, 32, 66, 67, and 68 will continue free rides thereunder a free Shuttle Fare Free Program. The transit agency buses will have protective dividers between passengers and driving operators to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus.

The SamTrans (San Mateo County Transit District) agency serving West Bay will operate on Christmas Day and New Years Day in San Francisco Bay Area. The SamTrans holiday services will operate transit with modified Sunday schedules, and office locations will be closed during the holidays on Christmas Day and New Years Day. The transit agency CEO/General Manager Jim Hartnett shared he is leaving his position during April 2021, and joined SamTrans six years ago with a great job!
