The Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) agency is closing Highway 1 for an emergency response drill at Tom Lantos tunnel. The Caltrans emergency response drill is mandatory during every year at Highway 1/SR-1 (State Route 1) for safety reasoning. The tunnel drill exercise is effective Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 9 PM to Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 4 AM - northbound and southbound lanes will be closed. The Caltrans agency is advising drivers to use alternative routes and CHP (California Highway Patrol) Officers will be onsite for assistance.

The SCT (Sonoma County Transit) services agency in North Bay is updating their services in San Francisco Bay Area. The SCT transit agency is operating some local daily and weekday service schedules with passenger fares to begin on Monday, February 1, 2021. The transit agency will continue to have free rides for college students and veterans with appropriate identification cards. The other local routes 24, 28, 32, 66, 67, and 68 in North Bay will continue to be fare-free routes for SCT service areas.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) transit agency in West Bay is recommending a new accessible proposal for Twin Peaks. The SFMTA staffing recommendation for therein Twin Peaks new access proposal is based on local community feedback with stakeholders input. The legendary Twin Peaks recreational visual scenery is one of the best in San Francisco Bay Area for local residents and touring visitors. The new accessible proposal for Twin Peaks will provide a New Vision for all people in San Francisco, and including pedestrians, bicyclists, and people with disabilities.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) transit services agency is launching their rider capacity feature in East Bay. The AC Transit agency has installed APC (Automated Passenger Counting) sensor devices to around 80% of their fleet coaches. The APC sensor devices will feed rider data information to AC Transit's data management system and determines real-time rider data for passengers capacity.

The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) agency in South Bay will continue express services suspension. The transit agency services for Highway 17 Express will continue suspension for daily and weekend services until March 3, 2021. It impacts Highway 17 Express daily services at 5:55 AM, 9:45 AM, 3:39 PM, and 7:35 PM as well as weekend services at 7:40 AM, 8:45 AM, 4:22 PM, and 5:45 PM. The Santa Cruz METRO Highway 17 Express services is between San Cruz METRO Center and San Jose Diridon.

The Redwood City Council approved a feasibility study for ferry services at the city port in San Francisco Bay Area. The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) transit agency is very supportive of therein ferry services and will work closely with Redwood City officials to make it happen. The study will include therein potential ferry routing information, financial stipulation, equity commuting passenger fares, and a business plan. The Redwood City Port staffing will provide therein feasibility study proposal for Redwood City Council members to review.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) services agency in North Bay has been recognized and received federal certification. The SMART train services implemented PTC (Positive Train Control) safety systems on main railway lines accordingly before therein deadline. The FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) provided therein certification for SMART train services by ensuring PTC systems are in place as mandated by statutory regulations.

The Caltrain transit agency in West Bay is extending commuting railway services contract in San Francisco Bay Area. The Caltrain Board of Directors approved therein rail services contract extension for TASI (Transit America Services Inc.) until June 2027. The Caltrain present contract with TASI is pending to expire in June 2022, and thereby extension will provide support for Caltrain's PCEP (Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project) transitional services alignment.
