Pedestrian safety initiatives in San Francisco Bay Area within local city jurisdictions have been modified, for local pedestrians and bicyclists safety improvement. A Town of Atherton, California have joined local safety efforts for protection of pedestrians and bicyclists, by approving funding for safety protections along El Camino Real roadway intersection with Almendral Avenue. Recently a pedestrian was killed with many other accidents along the intersecting roadway area and town council members are taking appropriate actions for improvement.

The planning process is developing for San Francisco Bay Area transportation and housing in 2040 within regional areas and public hearings are scheduled for April 29, 2015. The ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) and MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) are planning public hearings for people to participate and review the process for Plan Bay Area 2040.

As we posted previously about transportation being a necessity in San Francisco Bay Area is certainly coming in many types as necessary including fixed wing cessna aircraft. A local airline club in San Carlos, California called Surf Air is expanding it's membership services to other cities including Palm Springs, Monterey, Santa Rosa, and Sacramento. The airline club started services in San Carlos, California since 2013 and looking to have 40% expansion services.

The latest report on highways and roadways within San Francisco Bay Area was released yesterday, April 13, 2015 identifying transportation progressive initiatives and measuring outcomes. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) released a data driven 2014 report regarding roadways and highways repairing projects within nine bay area counties. The report indicates ongoing repairing projects didn't make much of a difference on highways and roadways within San Francisco Bay Area - but there was a little difference.

It appears that drivers have been getting faulty parking tickets from City of San Jose Public Parking Department and admitted to their wrongful operating system. A total of 1200 smart parking meters were installed to help drivers without cash money to pay for their parking spaces, and should not be reset until there is no more parking fee money. The parking meters downtown have been resetting themselves automatically when construction is happening around the area where parking meters are located.

The California State University Maritime Academy in joint partnership with Chevron Refinery has opened its safety training center facility last week in City of Richmond, California. Lately the State of California has been overwhelm with fire fighting activities in local forest areas, residential and commercial buildings, transportation vehicles and transit, including personal vehicles. The fire fighters and other first responding people have been busy trying to keep people safe from fire within local areas in California.

The national Highway Trust Fund is looming to end for transportation in San Francisco Bay Area, and bay area elected officials with local leaders are gearing for advocacy efforts. The Federal Transportation fund is expiring on May 31, 2015 exhausting financial support for local San Francisco Bay Area roadways and freeways. This past Thursday, April 9, 2015 was National Infrastructure Day for transportation and local leaders will contact their congressional and senate representatives for support.

Associated reports indicate people trespassing and crossing over security systems during the past decade at major national airports is tremendously alarming. SFO (San Francisco International Airport) has the highest breaching number of 37 and San Jose International Airport has 18, considering the recent stow-away teen passenger that illegally traveled on a flight from San Jose to Hawaii.

Traffic congestion in San Francisco Bay Area is getting worse and people are encouraged to ride public transportation including Caltrain along the Peninsula from San Jose. However, negative activities happening on public transportation can and will discourage people from riding public transportation. The southbound Caltrain 366 was stopped at the Hillsdale station to let two passengers off due to some negative argument activities on the train around 5:05 PM.

Traveling with responsible and accessible transportation is a necessity for people in San Francisco Bay Area especially for working class people. Using a bicycle can be that responsible means of transportation for people and it can be healthy for people during their way to work everyday. The Bike Share program announced last week an expansion bike project in the east-bay of San Francisco Bay Area within Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville.
