The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency in South Bay will charge passengers going to vaccination sites effective Thursday, July 1, 2021. The VTA agency suspended passenger fares when going to and from vaccination sites, and will start charging passengers again countywide. The County of Santa Clara has reached 80% vaccination rate for people already received their shots, and VTA will start charging passenger fees again. The VTA transit agency has been transporting passengers to vaccination sites for free, and it was a successful services commitment in South Bay.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Police Department officers and staff participates in the torch run within San Francisco Bay Area for Special Olympics. The BART Police Department teams up with more than 100,000 law enforcement professionals with friends and families nationwide to raise money for Special Olympics. The BART Police Department raised $2400 within a short notice for therein Special Olympics and the torch run consisted of 16 participants. The torch run started at Hayward Police Department's parking lot going towards Castro Valley in East Bay.

The GGBHTD (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District) services agency in North Bay is increasing passenger fees effective Thursday, July 1, 2021. The GGBHTD agency is increasing therein passenger fares as part of a five year program, and impacting services for transit buses and ferry vessels in the Bay Area. The transit agency will continue discounts for passengers using Clipper Cards, and requesting passengers to manage their Clipper Card accounts properly.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) services agency in West Bay is relaunching their ferry services effective Thursday, July 1, 2021. The WETA agency is relaunching therein services with gate changes in San Francisco for enhancement, and expediting transit services within San Francisco Bay Area. Including service changes regarding Oakland and Alameda routes to offer direct services from Oakland to San Francisco. The WETA ferry service fees for commuting passengers will be lower as well temporarily, and helping incentivize services for returning and new ferry passengers.

The County Connection transit services agency in East Bay is updating their capacity for passengers onboard without physical distancing. The physical distancing for passengers onboard County Connections transit buses will return to normal, and aligned with state new requirements for transit agencies. The State of California reopened most businesses without physical distancing on June 15, 2021 and facial covering onboard transit is still required. The County Connection transit agency is updating their service routes aligned with new statewide requirements in central Contra Costa County.

The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) services agency in South Bay updates their transit routes effective Thursday, June 10, 2021. The Santa Cruz METRO transit routes update will impact services during summertime until Wednesday, September 15, 2021. The transit agency will implement a new Route 18 services for Westside Santa Cruz and UCSC (University of California Santa Cruz) campus. The new transit Route 18 will replace Route 16 and providing 30 minutes frequency services between downtown Santa Cruz and UCSC campus.

The Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) agency is replacing bridge barriers along Highway 101 within San Francisco Bay Area. The Caltrans Bridge Barrier Replacement Projects started on Thursday, June 17, 2021 in Santa Clara County until the Summer of 2022. The Caltrans repair crews will replace various bridge barriers along Highway 101, and construction repairs may create loud noise in local communities. The Caltrans agency is thanking local communities for their understanding during therein improvement projects for safety reasoning.

The STS Airport parking fees will apply for short and long term parking lots, as well as monthly and reserved parking for long term. The airport DBE webinar virtual session is aligned with federal regulations because STS Airport receives transportation assistance.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) commercial airport in West Bay is opening therein SkyTerrace for airport passengers to visit. The SFO Airport SkyTerrace is open during summertime for people to visit and wearing facial covering masks as required, and even if people are vaccinated to prevent therein pandemic virus. The SFO Airport is encouraging people to wear facial covering masks at the airport and consistent with local, state, and federal directive regulations.
