The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) agency in South Bay will receive approximately $13.5 million federal funding. The transit agency is introducing therein Token Transit Mobile App for passengers to pay transit fees within Solano County service areas. The mobile app will make it faster and convenient for transit passengers as another option to pay for their public bus rides within the county. The transit passengers tickets and/or commuting passes will be loaded into their personal mobile app thereafter purchasing amounts.

The Caltrain transit agency in West Bay has achieved safety systems federal certification within San Francisco Bay Area. The transit agency PTC (Positive Train Control) system had been certified by FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) before the due date. The Caltrain agency provided a contract with Wabtec Railways Electronics Inc. to help with therein PTC safety technology systems for operational trains. The Caltrain operational trains will be enhanced with PTC safety empowerment systems to improve protection for passengers thereafter federal certification.

The Alameda CTC (County Transportation Commission) agency in East Bay released an environmental summary for Highway 880 Interchange Improvement Project. The Alameda CTC agency improvement project DED (Draft Environmental Document) study update in East Bay will require public input as required with therein procedural process. The proposed project will improve local traffic at Highway 880 interchange on Whipple Road/Industrial Park Southwest and Industrial Park West.
