The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) services agency in South Bay is improving transit services frequency in San Francisco Bay Area. The VTA agency is improving some transit routes regarding frequency for local buses to address therein challenge of passing passengers without stopping. The VTA services frequency changes will maximize available resources effective Monday, February 8, 2021 for improvement and efficiency of local transit services.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services agency Police Officer helps a woman find her homeless daughter in San Francisco Bay Area. The BART Police Officer Eric Hofstein delivered a package to the mother's daughter at San Francisco General Hospital. The mother requested for BART Police Officer Eric Hofstein to ensure therein package arrives on Friday for her daughter's birthday. The mother's daughter has been homeless with mental health issues of concern, and therein BART Police Officer helped her all the way for assistance!

The SolTrans (Solano County Transit) services agency in North Bay is offering free shuttle services for seniors receiving vaccination. The SolTrans will transport seniors 75+ years of age to and from COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Benicia for free, and seniors have to show proof of Solano County residency and age to receive services. The transit agency is working closely with Solano County Public Health Department to ensure seniors are transported safely to and from vaccination clinics.

The SFO (San Francisco International Airport) commercial airport in West Bay is launching a Human Trafficking Initiative in the Bay Area. The SFO Airport new initiative is to help combat human trafficking because airports are used to move victims from place to place.

The OAK (Oakland International Airport) commercial airport in East Bay is offering COVID-19 testing kits at vending machines in San Francisco Bay Area. The OAK International Airport is a first airport nationwide to sell COVID-19 testing kits at the vending machines. It makes it easier for passengers with contactless protection and vending machines are located at both terminals. The airport traveling passengers can take therein COVID-19 testing kits to apply at home and send completed samples with FedEx, and passengers can expect testing results with a mobile app for convenience.

The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) agency in South Bay will receive approximately $13.5 million federal funding. The transit agency in San Francisco Bay Area will receive therein emergency funds through the CRRSAA (Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act) federal relief funding package for transportation. The Santa Cruz METRO additional CRRSAA 2021 federal funding is aligned with federal funding from CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act allocation within 2020.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) services agency in San Francisco Bay Area approves approximately $180 million for regional transit agencies. The MTC agency is allocating therein transit relief federal funding to five regional transit operating agencies in the Bay Area thereafter approval. The MTC federal funding allocation is through CRRSAA (Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act) of therein COVID-19 federal relief funding active legislation.

The GGBHTD (Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District) agency provides service updates in North Bay within San Francisco Bay Area. The transit agency continues to provide reduced services for transporting buses and ferries for commuting passengers in North Bay. It also continues to monitor commuting passengers capacity on transit buses and ferry vessels to avoid COVID-19 transmissions. Some of transit bus services are reduced and/or suspended until further notice, and ferry services are operating during weekdays only without weekend services.

The WETA (Water Emergency Transportation Authority) transit agency in West Bay entered an agreement for the Redwood City ferry services. The WETA ferry services development project in Redwood City is now ready for next steps with the Redwood City Council and Port of Redwood City thereafter receiving the feasibility study results. The next steps for WETA with therein identified agencies will need to develop a business action plan for proposed ferry services thereafter signing the project agreement.
