California Governor Jerry Brown is proposing to spend $3.6 billion annually for roadway repairs in San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the state. The governor's administration is transparently sharing the proposal information with state legislators for assistance to improve the crumbling transportation system. The proposal plan is to have regular updates on highway improvement projects, streamlining environmental reviews within the infrastructure, and extending public-private partnerships for construction repairs.

San Francisco Bay Area BART transportation is closing down transbay services over Labor Day weekend for safety repairs. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) will provide alternative free bus transit services from 19th Street service station in Oakland to a temporary Transbay Terminal (2 blocks from Embarcadero Station) in downtown San Francisco. BART transbay tube will be closed for 3 days and reopen on Tuesday morning during regular commuting hours for passengers.

The Muni transportation system in San Francisco is planning to make changes for some transit routes to improve frequency services for passengers. SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) announced last Friday the changes are part of Muni Forward Program, making Muni transportation services workable for passengers in San Francisco. Including service upgrades to boost transit bus line services along identified routes and SFMTA Board of Directors will decide on possible changes on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

Presidio parkway extends roadway works on Highway 101 near Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and lane closures will be in place accordingly. Traffic congestion will happen along roadways because construction crews have to breakdown temporary barriers and installing permanent replacements. Including full closure of the hook ramp connectors to Highway 1 for more construction and electrical work. Lane closures will happen on Monday, August 31 to September 3, 2015 from 10 PM to 4:30 AM for night work along northbound and southbound Highway 101.

The new dashboard system for Muni transportation in San Francisco was launched to track traveling and pickup time for passengers. SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) has approved having a new system to provide passengers with on-time Muni buses and trains arrival at pickup locations. The new Muni dashboard system will have interactive activities online for passengers and city transit updates as connected to SFMTA website. The new dashboard system will also transparently provide passengers with ongoing crime reports on city transit.

The San Francisco Bay Ferry confirmed possible changes for ferry services in San Francisco Bay Area to compliment people riding ferry especially working class people. As we posted previously, transportation in San Francisco Bay Area is a "necessity" for people including families and children. Working class people commuting on ferry everyday across the bay to their office in San Francisco can be hard especially when ferry services leave you behind.

Air traffic problematic noise from airlines flying over City of Palo Alto continues to become painful for local residents. The City Council has approved a process of hiring a consultant to study air traffic problems over the city jurisdictions and provide a status report. The council also approved of having a liaison for the advocacy group Sky Posse regarding air traffic noise problems. The City Manager has been directed by council to share with neighboring cities about this air traffic problems and possibly join for resolutions.

The San Francisco Muni transportation system is changing it's way of issuing transfers for passengers after paying their fares. The current Muni fare boxing system has been installed since 1991 and manufacturing companies don't provide some parts and needs upgrading. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) Board of Directors approved the new system process for a replacement system. The current Muni system may be dissolved during 2016 when the new system is in place accordingly, and passengers will be informed and provide assistance with how the new system operates.

A person was hit by San Francisco Bay Area BART this afternoon and pronounced dead after jumping on the rail tracking system around 1:25 PM. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station on Embarcadero in San Francisco was closed down because of the incident, and BART with fire department officials said it appears to be a suicidal attempt. The person was hit by a train going to Dublin/Pleasanton and the BART station is closed down for an investigation.

As transportation funding for state roadways and highways continue to decrease for improvement projects throughout the State of California, Caltrans have issued traffic advisory for more road closures because of roadway projects. The state routing roadway 128 within Sonoma County is scheduled to close today at 11 PM - 5 AM until Thursday, for a retaining wall project and will close again on Sunday, August 30 to Thursday, September 3. No work is scheduled over Labor Day holiday weekend and scheduled to close again on Tuesday, September 8 to Thursday, September 10, 2015.
