The Santa Cruz METRO (Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District) services agency in South Bay honored Earth Day by offering free rides for passengers. The Santa Cruz METRO agency provided passengers free rides with their new electric bus on Thursday, April 22, 2021 to honor Earth Day. The transit agency adopted more sustainable fleet buses during 2002 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and deploying four new electric buses for service during the fall of 2021.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) agency in San Francisco Bay Area is sustaining our environment as part of their development action plan. The BART Warm Springs Station environmental surrounding areas in East Bay was toured by Wildlife Biologist, Michele Barlow of ERM Consulting Firm. She pointed out a bird singing with a spring seasonal song during her tour at BART Warm Springs Station, and the bird's song echoed within the station rotunda. Some environmental points she mentioned is wildlife dependent on water, and BART Warm Springs Station exemplifies how it manages storm water.

The SCT (Sonoma County Transit) services agency in North Bay is revising some routes during weekday services for students effective Monday, April 26, 2021. The SCT weekday service schedules for Routes 10, 12, and 14 will use revision schedules to get students at school campuses on time. The SCT new modified weekday schedules will serve local students at Lawrence Jones Middle School and Rancho Cotate High School.

The Caltrain services agency in West Bay is opening thereby new Hillsdale Station on Monday, April 26, 2021 in San Francisco Bay Area. The transit agency is excited to open Hillsdale Station with upgraded elements including new boarding platforms for passengers. Including the new underpass for pedestrians to avoid waiting at the station gateway platforms for loading and/or unloading. The Caltrans improvement project will reduce local traffic thereafter completion and enhancing protection for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers.

The Alameda CTC (County Transportation Commission) services agency in East Bay announced student awards for therein local schools countywide contest. The Alameda CTC agency shared student awards for therein SR2S (Safe Routes To School) Program countywide aligned with the Golden Sneaker Contest and Creation For Transportation. The Alameda County SR2S Program celebrates four student award winners of the Creation For Transportation high school contest. The winning students submitted artworks with inspirational messages for their community aligned with transportation.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit services partnered with local agencies to provide vaccination in South Bay within San Francisco Bay Area. The VTA transit agency provided volunteers to help at therein Vaccination Site at Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, and vaccinated 30,000 public transit employees, education, and emergency services workers. Including local fire agencies, county office of education, and county emergency medical services in South Bay for partnership services at the clinic.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) services agency in San Francisco Bay Area launches the electronic Clipper Cards. The MTC agency is helping commuting passengers make it easier to pay for therein transit fares in the Bay Area. The passengers can pay their transit fares using an electronic Clipper Card down loaded into their iPhone and/or Apple Watch, and passengers can also add monetary values to their card when necessary.

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) services agency in North Bay released a report of activities by the General Manager. The SMART General Manager's report identifies hosting and/or completed Safety and Security trainings with various fire agencies in North Bay with train operations. The SMART upgraded UV lights sterilization system and installation on train cars as well as UV light disinfection systems.

The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) services agency in West Bay supports transit for local students returning back to school. The SFMTA personnel have been working closely with local agencies to transport students back to school safely. Including street crossing guards to cover local reopening schools and repainting loading/unloading school zones for students to become more visible. The SFMTA will work closely with reopening schools and parents regarding parking to ensure students are safely picked up and/or dropped off at school campus.

The AC (Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District) services agency in East Bay will no longer offer free rides for passengers vaccination appointments. The AC Transit agency free services for passengers going to and returning from vaccination appointments at the Coliseum will cease on Monday, April 19, 2021. The transit agency is proud to partner with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and California OES (Office of Emergency Services), and Alameda County Public Health Department for essential local community services during the pandemic.
