The San Francisco Bay Area is planning for growth in coming years and completed Plan Bay Area 2040 draft for public review. The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) and ABAG (Association of Bay Area Governments) officials released a strategic Plan Bay Area 2040 for next two decades. The MTC and ABAG have been sharing information with public input thereafter two years of discussions and will share the draft during open house sessions.

The muni passengers in San Francisco are very familiar with undependable transit bus services and questioning bond funding expenditures. The San Francisco voters approved $500 million transportation bond in 2014 to improve public transportation for passengers. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) only spent $12 million in 3 years, and local residents are sharing concerns about unreliable local bus services. The local legislators are also sharing concerns about the voter approved bond measure to improve public transportation.

A lawsuit was filed yesterday by Disability Rights Advocates legal group along with disabled people regarding filth and accessibility. The disability legal group is suing BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) in San Francisco because of filthy and unhealthy station environment allegations. The legal advocates and disabled people alleges elevators and escalators are routinely out of services at BART stations, and regularly with human/animal feces or urine. It creates hardship and makes it not accessible for disabled people at BART stations, and violating federal and state disability laws.

The latest ACBJ (American City Business Journals) airport rankings of on-time arrivals and departures performance raising blames along airlines. The San Francisco Bay Area is home for 3 major transporting airports, and U.S. airline pilots are calling out and blaming American Airlines of manipulating arrivals and departures timing. The ACBJ research airport rankings identified SJC (San Jose International Airport) as #1 nationwide for airport performance.

The Caltrain local improvement projects are continually moving forward with progress and transit electrification system funding is still uncertain. The Caltrain crew members will remove the retaining wall and continue work on parking lot improvements at San Carlos Transit Center. The roadway on El Camino Real traffic may reduce down to one lane for traffic during construction, and working activities may delay because of bad weather conditions.

The Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) Aviation Director Kim Becker is leaving for San Diego International Airport (SAN). She has been working at SJC Airport for 21 years and starting her new position at San Diego during the month of May 2017. The SJC Airport has recently landed at the top of a national list for best airport operation and expenditures within nationwide rankings. The airport has added 6 international destinations in the last 4 years, and has 40 non-stop international and domestic destinations.

The California Governor Jerry Brown unveiled a funding package at the State Capitol for the state transportation projects including San Francisco Bay Area. The state transportation proposal agreement by the governor and state legislators will raise $5.2 billion, for transportation improvement projects statewide and San Francisco Bay Area. The funding proposal package will need approval by state legislators as scheduled for April 6, 2017 as the deadline.

An employee working for Tesla Motors factory in Fremont, California is suing the company for harassment and racial discrimination at the workplace. The Tesla employee DeWitt Lambert, 44 year old African-American is suing the company because of other employees using racial slurs and inappropriate behaviors on him. The allegations by co-workers happened along the assembly line and employee victim identified he has the video for evidence. He shared the complain with HR (Human Resources) department and investigated the situation, and he said his concerns were not properly resolved.

The airport is increasing more passengers and expecting more airlines during this year for tourists and visitors. The Sonoma County Airport (STS) celebrates its 10th anniversary milestone of airline services with Alaska Airlines. The local STS airport is only with a 15,000 square foot terminal with Alaska Airlines, including United Airlines and Sun Country Airlines to begin services in June and August 2017. The United Airlines announced 3 nonstop daily flights to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) starting June 8, 2017.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) transportation projects are starting to lineup for the Bay Area because state bridge toll increase is heading for the ballot. That means people have to vote for approval or disapproval of regional bridge tolls increase during upcoming elections. Therein ballot measure is to raise money for Bay Area transportation improvement projects, it's similar to the $1 toll increase in 1988 and 2004. The new BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) extension project in Warm Springs within Southern Fremont station was opened on Saturday for public services.
