The Delta Airlines announced they are suspending flights to OAK (Oakland International Airport) in East Bay starting Wednesday, May 13, 2020. The Delta Airlines are cutting back 80% domestic flights and therein flight suspension will last through the end of September. It's consolidating operational flights while air traveling customers and flights are low at this time with local health guidelines. The airlines flight cutbacks will impact other air traveling flights at airports nationwide.

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) agency shared the creation of a Blue Ribbon Transit Recovery Task Force in San Francisco Bay Area. The task force team will have 30 members to guide the future of Bay Area transit networks for public transportation. The SJC (Mineta San Jose International) Airport is requesting all passengers and/or airport personnel to wear face coverings as required effective Monday, May 4, 2020. Including airport visitors dropping off and/or picking up passengers when they are inside the airport jurisdiction in South Bay. The SJC Airport visitors who are 6 years old and/or younger children don't have to wear face coverings as required. The SJC Airport approach is to stop the spread of COVID-19 virus and consistent with local, state, and federal public health advisory.

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit agency is requesting passengers to wear face covering onboard as mandated effective Monday, May 4, 2020. It's mandatory for both VTA personnel and passengers onboard to wear face coverings to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the Bay Area. The contest is engaging students between 13 and 19 years of age regarding climate change and environmental protection alignment with transportation in the Bay Area. The youth contest students must turn in their storytelling projects by Monday, May 18, 2020 to be eligible and receive contest prices.
