The City of San Francisco is developing new ways of supporting Vision Zero goals by 2024 protecting local bicyclists and pedestrians. The SFMTA (San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency) is working closely with Public Works Department to ensure new street designs are implemented appropriately as planned. The "Protected Intersection" project is a collaboration partnership that cost $350,000 to make sure pedestrians and bicyclists are safe on city streets. The SFMTA officials unveiled the new street design at Ninth and Division streets in San Francisco, that could soon be implemented throughout local city streets for protection. The San Francisco Mayor, Ed Lee said, "We looked at data pertaining intersections and it will be a good test of integrated modes of transportation, within an urban city like San Francisco and hopefully drivers will appreciate necessary changes."
"We are looking forward to see more protected intersections in the city - will help reduce chaotic street crossing and hope it will be copied, and embraced in other dangerous intersections for pedestrians across our city," said Brian Wiedenmeier, Executive Director, San Francisco Bicyclist Coalition. #EliteLimousine driver's background is lawfully checked and cleared to operate passenger transporting vehicles, and all fleet vehicles are always cleaned with eco-cleaning solutions without toxin, to keep car interiors environmentally safe and healthy for passengers.
