VTA TRANSIT POLICY MODEL WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) transit policy is being modeled to fight human trafficking on transit throughout the Bay Area and statewide. The California state governor signed into law AB2034 (Assembly Bill 2034) making it mandatory for all transit agencies to have human trafficking training. The new training law is mandatory for all statewide transit agencies to train employees and transit operators - effective January 2019. The human trafficking awareness training will provide transit employees and/or transit operators with skills to identify therein types of illegal activities. The VTA transit agency has provided Human Trafficking Awareness training for more than 2200 employees including new employees - visit www.vta.org for more information.
