VTA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT GROUNDBREAKING IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) held a groundbreaking event for Mathilda Avenue Improvements Project transformation on Highway 101. The South Bay improvement project will cost $42 million with collaborative partnership funds from local and state funding allocation. The VTA transit agency is working closely with local municipal partnership agencies and Caltrans to move therein project forward. The improvement project will widen Mathilda Avenue going both directions with three lanes each way to make it easier for drivers. The project construction may go through the middle of next year during 2020 if the weather is okay without delays. State Senator Jim Beall said, "I know first hand how the valley has grown and traffic has changed in our communities." It will help reshape local traffic in Silicon Valley to avoid congestion and helping with safer access to local roadways - visit www.vta.org for more information.
