The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) services agency in San Francisco Bay Area is rolling out new tones at gates to help blind and/or low-vision passengers. The blind and/or low-vision traveling passengers will access audible chime tones at BART Stations to help them travel in the Bay Area without problems. The BART new audible tones will assist blind passengers traveling through thereby station entrance/exit gates to make it easier. The new chime tones will play an audible tune to assist blind passengers to enter and/or exit fare gates. The transit agency used beeping sounds previously and updated therein networking system to use chime tones, and all newly installed fare gates at BART Stations can provide different tones. The BART personnel developed new chime tones and received positive feedback from passengers and communities, and providing essential transit services for all passengers - visit www.bart.gov for more information and/or chime tones update.
