SAMTRANS ROLLING OUT ELECTRIC BUSES WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SamTrans transit agency is rolling out an electric bus sample for passengers designed by a local company in San Francisco Bay Area during a Press Conference. The transit agency ordered 10 new electric buses to replace old diesel buses within the fleet serving San Mateo County. The new electric buses are designed and manufactured by Proterra Inc. in Burlingame within West Bay Area. The SamTrans agency is planning to roll out therein electric transit buses next year for passengers. The transit agency is planning to replace the new fleet buses by 2032 and consistent with state zero-emission deadlines. The new electric buses will have therein capability of electronic charging elements with wheelchair capacity including Wi-Fi.
