NORTH BAY TRANSIT FUNDING IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) trains will get $12.6 million for improvement projects in North Bay within San Francisco Bay Area. The SMART transit agency will receive therein funding grant from MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) for bicycle and pedestrian pathway project. The pathway improvement project will be aligned with local cities in North Bay for pedestrians and bicyclist safety. The pathway project will be along 4.7 miles connection with current pathways for safety reasoning. The funding grant is part of therein MTC Active Transportation Program funded by SB1 (Senate Bill 1) state legislative approval. The MTC approval of therein funding grant for SMART should happen during the next funding cycle in February 2019.
