MTC SUPPORTS LEGISLATION WITHIN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

The MTC (Metropolitan Transportation Commission) services agency in San Francisco Bay Area is supporting therein reform legislation for toll payments and penalty. The MTC regional agency is aligning their support with AB2594 (Assembly Bill 2594) and requiring toll agencies to waive penalties for first-time violators. This type of waiver practice is already in place with BATA (Bay Area Toll Authority) and MTC toll operations in the Bay Area. Including thereby $25 cap for a first toll bridge violation penalty, and $50 cap for second notice with cumulative violations. It requires toll agencies to allow customers to apply for one-time waiver of penalties, and as long as customers are paying outstanding toll charges. The MTC legislative support for AB2594 requires toll agencies to have one in-person customer services at their office location - visit www.mtc.ca.gov for more information and/or bridge toll reforming updates.
